Srinagar’s Aamina Zehra has brought immense pride to Jammu & Kashmir by winning Gold at the 3rd Asian Junior Pencak Silat Championship, held at Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Stadium, Srinagar.

At just 17, Aamina has become the only girl from J&K to achieve this prestigious feat, showcasing her grit, determination, and world-class talent. With 12 national medals and international recognition already to her name, this victory cements her place as one of the Valley’s brightest sporting stars.

Poonch’s very own Mr. Amim Altaf Nabi, grandson of renowned poet Late Shahbaz Rajourvi and son of Dr. Anis A Nabi (Ex-CMO), has made history by becoming the first scientist from his region. Currently a Ph.D. research scholar at IIT Delhi’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, he has now been selected for the prestigious post of Scientist at CSIR-CRRI.

Mr. Nabi’s journey is nothing short of inspiring: after completing his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from BGSBU Rajouri, he qualified GATE and pursued his M.Tech from VNIT Nagpur, earning 5 awards including the Gold Medal for outstanding performance.

India Launches NIELIT Digital University Today Empowering Youth with Future-Ready Skills

On this historic day, October 2, 2025, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in India's digital education landscape.

The NDU platform aims to democratize access to high-quality digital education by offering industry-focused programs in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Semiconductors, and allied fields. These programs are designed to equip youth with the skills necessary to thrive in the evolving digital economy.

In addition to the university launch, five new NIELIT Centres were virtually inaugurated in:

Muzaffarpur, Bihar

Balasore, Odisha

Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh

Daman (Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu)

Lunglei, Mizoram

These centres will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of digital education across the nation.

The inauguration event featured a panel discussion on the "Role of AI in Digitization of Education", bringing together eminent experts from academia and industry. Additionally, top-performing students from the DevSecOps course, jointly conducted by NIELIT and Kyndryl, were felicitated for their outstanding achievements.

Over 1,500 participants, including NIELIT students from across India, academicians, and technological experts, attended the event, underscoring the national enthusiasm for this transformative initiative.

With the launch of NDU, India takes a significant step towards bridging the digital skills gap and empowering its youth to lead in the global digital economy.
