This is the situation on the Shangus–Uttersoo route in Anantnag: 17 passengers are crammed into a Tata Sumo with a seating capacity of only seven, while the Shangus and Uttersoo stands remain busy making money, putting people’s lives at risk.

The Motor Vehicles Department should deploy Motor Vehicle Traffic Assistant (MVTAs) on the roads, as they are currently performing the duties of Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVIs), which is not their Job and traffic officials must take strict action against the stand operators and drivers involved.

A student identified as Kifayat Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmad Hanji, resident of Kharpora, Arwani, Bijbehara, has gone missing from Darul Uloom Wachi in Shopian.

According to details, Kifayat Manzoor was reported missing at around 2:00 pm. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown, causing concern among family members and locals.

Anyone having any information about the missing student is requested to immediately contact 9149913390 or inform the nearest police station.

Authorities have been urged to take swift action to trace the missing student at the earliest.
