SWACHH VIDYALAYA PURASKAR 2021-22 FELICITATION CEREMONY HELD AT RAJOURI..

The district level award ceremony to felicitate selected schools with the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2021-22 was today organised by the Department of School Education Distt. Rajouri in collaboration with District Administration Rajouri, here in the conference hall of dak bungalow Rajouri.

District Development Commissioner Rajouri Sh Vikas Kundal was the chief guest of the occasion.

In his introductory speech, Mr Abdul Raouf Dar District Education Planning Officer Rajouri, besides welcoming the guests informed that in Rajouri district, 1305 schools including Govt and private schools were registere on the portal . After verification by inter zonal teams, the potal, 431 schools were approved by the portal for rating under various sub-categories viz provision of water, toilet,hand wash with soap, operation and maintenance, behaviour change and capacity building and covid-19 preparedness.He also informed that out of total participating schools 30 schools were selected for district level SVP award 2021-22.

The chief guest presented the Certificates of Appreciation to the head of institutes of 30 selected schools

While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Sh Vikas Kundal appreciated the efforts of Chief Education Officer and her team on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and urged the participants to be part of the change so that the dream of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan could be attained and realised.

Among others, the prominents who attended the function include Sh Pawan Kumar Parihar ADDC Rajouri, Chief Education Officer Rajouri , Principals of various higher secondaries, ZEO's and other dignitaries from the education department.

The Chief Education Officer Rajouri Smt Shailesh Kumari presented the vote of thanks to all the guests for sparing their valuable time and for making this program a great success.

Dr Shahid Rasool Sr Lecturer conducted the proceedings on the stage.

*13 killed in deadly Doda road accident 15 others sustained injuries*

Doda, Oct 28: At least 13 people were killed and 15 others sustained injuries, 4 of them critical after a mini-bus skided off the road and rolled down a gorge in Doda area of Jammu Thursday morning.

The incident was reported from Sui-Gowari area of Doda while the bus was on its way from Doda to Thathri.

Deputy Commissioner Doda Vikas Sharma told news agency that mini bus suffered extensive damage while several passengers died on spot. He said some injured passengers are being airlifted to Jammu Medical College for advanced treatment.

An eyewitness told the police the driver of the bus (JK17-4021) probably lost control over the vehicle and it fell from mountainous slope into the gorge.

Local sources said that at least 13 passengers have died while a child is still missing. The efforts to trace the missing child is underway. They said that 15 passengers have sustained injuries while four of them are critical.

*Twin daughters of CJM Reasi and nieces of NC leader die in Chandigarh road accident*

Chandigarh, Oct 26: Two daughters of Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi died in a fatal road accident in Chandigarh today.

The slain sisters were nieces of National Conference leader and former minister Aijaz Jan and the daughters of CJM Reasi Syed Adnan.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Reasi Syed Adnan hails from Surankote Poonch.

The deceased, as per the family sources, have been identified as Zava Adnan (elder daughter) and Aqsa Adnan (pursuing Law in Melbourne Australia.

The fatal road accident occurred on Chandigarh Highway when the driver lost control over the vehicle.

Zava Adnan as per family was travelling to Chandigarh along with her sister and other girls when the accident occurred.

Zava was scheduled to leave for Bangladesh to appear in the entrance test for MBBS.

The two sisters died in the accident while other girls accompanying them sustained injuries and shifted to hospital.

Mughal Road Reopens After 3 Days Closure Due To Snow, Heavy Rains

Poonch, Oct 26 : Mughal road, connecting Shopian and Poonch-Rajouri districts, re-opened after remaining closed for three days amid fresh snowfall and heavy rains, officials said on Tuesday.

AEE Mechanical, Mughal Road, in Surankote Sub Division Tahir Khan said snow Clearance has been completed.

Subsequently, DTI Mughal Road Mohammad Qasam told online news Hunt that traffic was allowed to move.

The traffic movement on the thoroughfare was shut in view of snow accumulation at few places and heavy rains for three days with apprehension of landslides or shooting stone en route

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader Omar Abdullah on Monday slammed team India for not standing up for their teammate Mohammed Shami, who was abused and trolled on social media after India suffered a defeat against Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

“Mohammed Shami was one of 11 players who lost last night; he was not the only player on the field. Team India, your BLM knee taking counts for nothing if you cannot stand up for your teammate who is being abused and trolled on social media,” Abdullah tweeted.
