This momentous event marks a significant milestone for the traders of the region, as it signifies a new chapter of organized efforts, coordination, and collective progress within the local trading community.

During this meeting, a transparent and democratic election process was carried out to select the dedicated individuals who will lead the association forward. *Mukhtiar Ahmad Bawan* was duly elected as the Chairman of the Polo View Traders Association (North), a position that entrusts him with the responsibility to oversee the association’s activities, represent the traders interests, and ensure that their concerns are addressed at various platforms. *Mohammad Ishaq Bhat* was elected as the President, *Reyaz Ahmad Baig* was chosen as the Vice President,*Feroz Khan* was elected as the Secretary General.

Srinagar, Nov 4: Police have registered an FIR against the organisers of the IHPL event in Srinagar.
According to officials, a case has been filed at Police Station Rajbagh under FIR No. 56/2025, invoking Sections 316 and 318 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Authorities said the case pertains to alleged violations during the conduct of the event. Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the organisers’ involvement and possible lapses.

Srinagar, Nov 03: The government has initiated a verification drive to regulate media operations in the valley, making it mandatory for all journalists to register and validate their credentials with the District Information Offices.

The directive, as per the news agency issued by the District Information Officers (DIOs) of Baramulla and Kupwara, follows instructions from the Joint Director Information Kashmir.

It aims to curb the misuse of media identity and ensure that only genuine journalists are allowed to operate in the field.

According to officials, the move comes amid growing concerns over the presence of unverified individuals posing as journalists. Media persons have been asked to submit their documents and credentials within seven days for verification.

Only registered and authenticated media persons will be permitted to cover official events, government functions and visits of dignitaries. Unauthorized individuals will be denied entry to such engagements, officials said.

The administration said the verification exercise is part of a wider effort to maintain professionalism, transparency and accountability within the media fraternity. It also seeks to safeguard the credibility of legitimate journalists and prevent misuse of press privileges—

*Case filed over IHPL controversy, probe underway: Police*

Srinagar, Nov 03 Following reports of chaos, cancellations and unpaid dues surrounding the private cricket league - Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) T20 in Srinagar, police have filed a case and initiated a probe into the matter.

A top police officer told the news agency— that an FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered, while a probe is underway.

Reportedly, players associated with the league alleged that they were not paid their promised payments and were asked not to come to the stadium due to “technical issues.”

Some also claimed they were asked to vacate their hotel accommodations.

The IHPL featured several local and international cricketers, but was not recognised either by the BCCI or the JKCA, raising questions about its legitimacy.—
