Tamil Nadu health minister KG Arunraj on Tuesday moved a resolution in the state Assembly seeking the abolition of the National Eligibility cm Entrance Test (NEET), with the DMK, AIADMK, Left parties and PMK supporting the move. The lone BJP MLA staged a walkout during the proceedings.

Moving the resolution, Arunraj said NEET was against social justice, equality and the rights of states. He said the examination had undermined medical education opportunities for students from rural and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Revenge Plot Foiled: Ganderbal Police Intercept Drug Consignment Allegedly Sent to Frame Husband.

Ganderbal Police have intercepted a suspicious parcel at Safapora Post Office containing approximately 4 kg of cocaine-mixed powder, 80 grams of charas and psychotropic tablets, officials said.
According to police, the consignment was allegedly arranged as part of a conspiracy to falsely implicate the addressee in a drug case. Investigation reportedly revealed the involvement of his wife’s former partner, who allegedly arranged the parcel through a contact based outside Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused, identified as Tariq Ahmad Sofi of Zainakot, Srinagar, has been apprehended. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the source of the narcotics and identify other persons involved.
