DC Ganderbal reviews implementation of HADP, JKCIP & KKGs

Approves 499 cases under various schemes

GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 13: In order to take thorough review of the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP), besides Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore Monday convened a meeting here.

The meeting aimed to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination and ensure timely and effective ex*****on of key government initiatives to benefit the farming community.

Addressing the meeting, DC stressed scaling up schemes covering Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Horticulture Planning & Marketing, and Sericulture. He emphasized extending benefits to more beneficiaries to maximize the outreach and impact of these programmes across the district.

DC directed to focus on revenue generation and proper reporting of actual income generated by KKGs through Krishi Udyamis. He also directed timely issuance of fertilizer licenses to those who have completed the training course.

The concerned departments were directed to take proactive steps to remove deficiencies and ensure maximum coverage under these schemes.

Earlier, District Nodal Officer HADP through a PowerPoint presentation briefed the chair regarding the overall performance achieved under various projects of HADP and JKCIP in Ganderbal district.

Officers present also provided a detailed overview of the progress achieved under HADP, JKCIP and KKGs including farmer registration and enrollment through the Daksh Kisan Portal, completion of training courses, established units and fund utilization. Progress on the Kissan Sathi, KCC scheme status, PMFME and PMFBY status besides distribution of Kissan Smart Cards under HADP was also reviewed.

DC reviewed the set targets, achievements so far, and identified implementation gaps. He directed the concerned departments to take proactive measures to bridge any deficiencies and ensure maximum acceptance of application and farmer coverage under these schemes.

Later, DC reviewed and accorded approval to cases submitted under HADP, JKCIP and IDDS in the district.

After a thorough review of submitted applications, DC approved 268 HADP cases, 224 JKCIP cases and 07 IDDS cases, empowering the farming community and promoting sustainable agricultural practices in the district.

The meeting was attended by GM DIC, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer, AGM NABARD, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Sericulture Officer, Sr. Scientist KVK Ganderbal, Assistant Director Fisheries, Area Marketing Officer Horticulture (P&M) and Lead District Manager.

Under the Civic Action Programme, Ganderbal Police in collaboration with District Hospital Ganderbal and Kashmir Speaks (NGO) organised an extensive Awareness Programme, Rallies and Nukkad Natak on World Mental Health Day to spread awareness about mental well-being and the menace of drug addiction.

The event was held at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, health professionals, and police officers. The awareness rally was flagged off from Beehama and culminated at Duderhama, with participants holding banners and placards carrying messages on mental health and drug de-addiction.

A Nukkad Natak (street play) highlighting the devastating impact of drug abuse and the importance of emotional resilience was performed by S.R Threatre Group which received huge appreciation from the audience.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘄𝗮𝗹-𝗝𝗞𝗣𝗦,
chaired the event and interacted with the participants. While addressing the gathering, he emphasized the crucial link between mental health and societal stability. He urged the youth to stay away from drugs and to act as ambassadors of awareness in their communities.

Medical experts from District Hospital Ganderbal and representatives from Kashmir Speaks also addressed the participants, sensitizing them about early signs of mental distress, coping strategies, and the importance of seeking timely help.

The programme concluded with a pledge to work collectively towards building a drug-free and mentally healthy society.
