Er. Saqib Khursheed Wani Honored with Institute Gold Medal at IIT Jammu Convocation
Srinagar, October 11, In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, Er. Saqib Khursheed Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmed Wani and a native of Wagoora, Baramulla, was awarded the prestigious Institute Gold Medal during the 6th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu.
Currently serving as a Tunnel Engineer with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction, he plays a pivotal role in the Twin Tunnel Project in Mumbai, one of India’s more complex subterranean engineering endeavors. His work there has already earned him recognition in professional circles.
Er. Saqib comes from a family of achievers. His elder brother, Er. Kaisar Wani, is a former senior engineer with L&T and now serves as an Assistant Engineer with the Jammu & Kashmir government. His sister, Dr. Shabnum Wani, is a gold medalist in the J&K Health Services, and his brother-in-law, Dr. Aabid Ali, is a renowned consultant radiologist.
During the convocation event, IIT Jammu’s faculty and leadership lauded Saqib for his technical brilliance, humility, and dedication to the institute’s academic values. His success has been celebrated widely as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of the Union Territory proof that individuals from even remote backgrounds can achieve excellence on national stages.
