Baramulla, Oct 13: In a significant development within the JK Apni Party, Javed Bhat, a resident of Uri in Baramulla district, has formally resigned from his position as Vice President of the Kashmir Province Youth Wing, as well as from his basic membership of the party. The resignation, submitted today, marks the end of Bhat's active involvement with the party, where he had been an active member contributing to youth outreach and organizational activities.
In his statement, Bhat expressed his sincere gratitude to the party president, Syed Altaf Bukhari, acknowledging his leadership and guidance throughout his tenure.“I thank Syed Altaf Bukhari for his support and for providing me the opportunity to serve the youth and the party in Kashmir,” he said.

Er. Saqib Khursheed Wani Honored with Institute Gold Medal at IIT Jammu Convocation

Srinagar, October 11, In a proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir, Er. Saqib Khursheed Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmed Wani and a native of Wagoora, Baramulla, was awarded the prestigious Institute Gold Medal during the 6th Convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu.

Currently serving as a Tunnel Engineer with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction, he plays a pivotal role in the Twin Tunnel Project in Mumbai, one of India’s more complex subterranean engineering endeavors. His work there has already earned him recognition in professional circles.

Er. Saqib comes from a family of achievers. His elder brother, Er. Kaisar Wani, is a former senior engineer with L&T and now serves as an Assistant Engineer with the Jammu & Kashmir government. His sister, Dr. Shabnum Wani, is a gold medalist in the J&K Health Services, and his brother-in-law, Dr. Aabid Ali, is a renowned consultant radiologist.

During the convocation event, IIT Jammu’s faculty and leadership lauded Saqib for his technical brilliance, humility, and dedication to the institute’s academic values. His success has been celebrated widely as a beacon of inspiration for the youth of the Union Territory proof that individuals from even remote backgrounds can achieve excellence on national stages.

For Wani’s family, community, and the people of Kashmir, this moment is not only a personal triumph but also a reminder of the promise held by young talents in the region. His journey from the valleys of the Himalayas to contributing to one of India’s flagship engineering projects stands as a testimony to perseverance, education, and hope.
