Shaykh Daghash al-‘Ajami, [may Allāh preserve him], said:

“By Allāh, certainly, we love the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ more than we love our fathers, our mothers, our children, and even our own selves. We strive to live by his guidance, we adhere to his Sunnah, and we spread his noble biography.

Though harm and injury may come to us from the people because of this, his obedience and his love transform every hardship into sweetness.
Yet, despite our immense love for him, we do not commemorate the so-called Mawlid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s birthday). For he ﷺ did not do so, nor did his noble Companions, nor the generations whom he himself praised as the best of this Ummah.”
