ADC Sopore Addresses Interaction Programme at GGHS Bomai, Calls for Holistic Development of Students

Baramulla ,September 25: Government Girls High School (GGHS) Bomai, Sopore organised an interaction programme today, with the participation of parents, teachers and students. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A Raina was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the ADC encouraged students to actively participate in sports and other co-curricular activities for their overall physical and mental development. He advised them to stay away from drugs and other harmful practices and focus on their studies, health and future goals.

The ADC urged the students to choose their friends wisely and develop a positive friend circle that encourages good habits, discipline, learning and healthy activities. He also encouraged them to work hard and make their parents and teachers proud through responsible conduct and positive achievements.

He further urged parents to closely monitor the academic progress, activities and overall well-being of their wards and maintain regular communication with teachers. He stressed that coordinated efforts by parents and teachers play an important role in guiding children towards a healthy, disciplined and successful future.

The ADC appreciated the school administration and teaching staff for organising the interaction programme and providing a platform for meaningful interaction among students, parents and teachers.

DGP J&K -IPS, along with IG Kashmir Zone -IPS conducted an Ops Review, with all Districts and Ranges of Kashmir.

September 24: Director General of Police J&K Shri Nalin Prabhat-IPS chaired a security & Ops review meeting at PCR Kashmir to assess the prevailing security scenario, with special focus on strengthening police capabilities and enhancing the professional and operational preparedness of personnel.

The meeting was physically attended by IGP Kashmir Shri Sujit Kumar-IPS, DIG CKR, SSP PCR Kashmir, SSP Srinagar, SP Cargo and other officers. DIG SKR, DIG NKR and all district SSsP of Kashmir Zone attended the meeting via video conferencing.

At the outset, senior officers briefed the DGP on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and key security-related developments. The chair was also apprised of various initiatives and structured programmes aimed at improving the professional capabilities, operational readiness and specialised expertise of police personnel.

Shri Nalin Prabhat emphasised continued vigilance, proactive policing, close coordination and timely sharing of actionable intelligence to strengthen field-level preparedness. DGP J&K stressed the importance of regular, specialised and need-based instruction, with emphasis on modern and technology-enabled policing, and directed officers to ensure continuous opportunities for professional development.

The meeting concluded with directions to maintain a sustained focus on professional development and ensure that personnel remain well-equipped to meet evolving operational requirements.

Workshop on Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan under VB-G RAM G Act Held at Baramulla

Baramulla, September 24: A workshop on the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP) under the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025 was held today at Dak Bungalow, Baramulla, with Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Baramulla, Ch. Mudasir Hussain, presiding over the workshop.

The workshop was aimed at sensitising officials and stakeholders about the VGPP framework and key provisions of the VB-G RAM G Act, with emphasis on participatory, bottom-up and integrated planning at the Gram Panchayat level. The Act envisages preparation of Viksit Gram Panchayat Plans through the Gram Sabha, ensuring that local priorities and development requirements are identified and incorporated into village-level plans.

During the workshop, detailed discussions were held on the major provisions of the Act, including the enhanced statutory guarantee of 125 days of wage employment to eligible rural households in a financial year. Participants were also briefed about the four major thematic areas under the framework, namely water security, core rural infrastructure, livelihood-related infrastructure, and special works for extreme weather events and disaster preparedness.

The workshop also highlighted the importance of convergence and saturation-based planning to address development gaps and create durable and productive rural assets. The VGPP framework seeks to bring together different development programmes and interventions through a coordinated planning process at the Gram Panchayat level.

Speaking on the occasion, ACD Ch. Mudasir Hussain highlighted the significance of the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 in strengthening rural livelihoods, employment opportunities and village-level infrastructure. He emphasised the need for close coordination among Panchayati Raj Institutions, Gram Sabhas, line departments and field functionaries for effective implementation of the new framework.

He stressed the importance of preparing realistic and need-based VGPPs through active community participation, ensuring that the plans reflect the priorities of local communities and contribute to sustainable and resilient rural development.

ACD further highlighted that the VB-G RAM G framework seeks to link employment generation with durable asset creation, livelihood enhancement and improved rural infrastructure, contributing to the broader vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

JKTA Baramulla Holds Programme on Teachers’ Role in Society

Baramulla: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) Baramulla organised a one-day programme on “Role of Teachers in Society”, celebrating the dedication, excellence and commitment of teachers across the district.

The event was attended by MLA Baramulla Javid Hassan Baigh, MLA Wagoora-Kreeri Adv. Irfan Hafeez Lone, ADDC Baramulla, JKTA Chairman Shah Fayaz, Deputy CEO Iftikhar Bashir, General Secretary Hatim Qayoom and other dignitaries, along with teachers and social representatives.
