The patching and macadamization work carried out nocturnally yesterday by R&B Srinagar at Soitang is completely unacceptable. The quality of the material used, as well as the manner in which the work has been executed, reflects gross negligence and lack of proper monitoring. Shockingly, within just a single day of completion, the surface has already started showing visible signs of damage, clearly indicating that neither standard procedures nor the required specifications were followed.Local residents and prominent citizens of Soitang had contacted the DDC Chairman of Srinagar regarding this issue. The DDC Chairman Srinagar has acknowledged the concerns and has assured that immediate action will be taken. Specifically, he has already issued a directive on his official letterhead emphasizing the need for swift corrective measures.Taheen Farooq, a social/political activist from Soitang, was present at the site, along with Adv Adnan magrey, a prominent social and peace activist. Both of them observed the situation and expressed deep concern over the injustice faced by the local residents due to this substandard work.We strongly urge the District Administration and higher authorities to immediately inspect the site, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure.
