Azad visits migrant KP community at Jagti township, promises their return with dignity

“Migrant Pandits resolved to support DPAP’s progressive vision for J&K”

Jammu, May 8: Democratic Progressive Azad Party Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad visited the Jagti Township & addressed the Kashmiri migrant Pandits. Mr Azad while addressing the community members, party workers said that he will make all efforts to ensure their return to their respective homes in Kashmir with respect and dignity. “I ensured all of you return home when I was the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. I opened job opportunities for all those who had migrated from Kashmir and paved the safe return with all required secured initiatives. I believe lot more is to be done and I promise you if I am elected to power, all the measures will be taken in this regard,” he said. Mr Azad said that he feels and understands the pain of this migrant community since they have literally been uprooted by the conflict and forced to migrate from their birth place. “Nothing can compensate the losses that you suffered while leaving your homes. My first and important priority is to rehabilitate you back at your respective ancestral places,” he told the migrant Pandits. He said providing jobs and financial assistance is not enough to win the trust of community, it is the duty of state to rehabilitate you back with honor and dignity so that you can have the same feelings which you enjoyed before leaving your homes. He assured them that he will launch various schemes that will benefit the community in large unlike other parties who visit the township to score political points. “ Your’s is a humane issue and needs same treatment. While dealing with it we have to rise above politics.” Mr Azad said that when no one was bothered about the plight of the community’s sufferings, it was his government who took an initiative to began the process of rehabilitation of the community back home in Kashmir. Later, the community members submitted their grievances to Mr Azad and sought his intervention to resolve. Mr Azad , assured them all the genuine issues would be resolved and he will personally intervene into the matter. On the occasion, scores of prominent members from the community joined the DPAP. JAMMU May 6: Working President National Panther’s party P.R.Ganju, Surinder Kumar Wahi renowned Businessman, Joginder Paul Kholi Rtd Astt GM FCI, Shweta Dogra, Darhana Devi, Rita Devi, Rekha along with hundreds of workers today joined the Democratic Progressive Azad Party in presence of party chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad in Jammu. On the occasion, Mr Azad said that DPAP is the only political Party that envisages the political roadmap for the entire Union Territory for all round development and if his party emerges to power after elections it will build Jammu as the city of immense opportunities. “When I was the Chief Minister, I build hospitals of AIMS standard, colleges and Universities were also built of international standard. But the present dispensation robbed it of all and made a city which looks totally dependent,” he said. Mr Azad said that the Darbar move was fetching substantial economic opportunities to the people for Jammu but it was cancelled without taking the interests of local people on board. Mr Azad said he was never in favour of cancelling Darbar move which was immature and wrong decision. Mr Azad said he assures the people of Jammu that their all grievances will be resolved by his party if it is elected to power by people after elections. He said he will intensify the speed of development more then what it was earlier and build more colleges, hospitals and road network of international standard. “Jammu can’t be treated as a normal city for its rich social and economical values. It needs a vision to run and develop. I assure you I have all that and will develop it on international standards,” he said.
Mr Azad said no one can ignore the secular values of Jammu and how it embraced all the people from various regions and religions and offered equal opportunities. He said it’s secularism is actually it’s strengthen and he salutes the people for maintaining the secular tradition.
