J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN CONDUCTS STICKER CAMPAIGN TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS REGARDING DRUG ABUSE.
April 17: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and raise public awareness under the 100 Days Action Plan, a sticker campaign under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan was led by the Worthy SSP Shopian.
The campaign commenced from the Clock Tower Shopian and aimed to sensitize the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse while promoting a drug-free society. Stickers carrying awareness messages such as “Say No to Drugs” were distributed and pasted on vehicles and at prominent public places to maximize outreach. The stickers were affixed by senior officers of Police, along with senior citizens and other participants, symbolizing a united stand against drug abuse.
Senior police officers, senior citizens and various stakeholders from civil society actively participated in the initiative, reflecting a collective commitment towards eradicating the drug menace from the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the SSP Shopian emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in tackling drug abuse and urged the public, especially the youth, to stay away from narcotics. He highlighted that awareness and community participation are key to achieving the vision of a drug-free society. He further appealed to the public that if they come across any kind of crime or drug-related activity, they should immediately contact the nearest police station or share information through police helpline numbers. He assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential and every piece of information will be acted upon promptly.
Shopian Police reiterated its dedication to safeguarding the youth and ensuring a healthy, drug-free environment through sustained awareness and community engagement programs.
