J&K POLICE IN SHOPIAN CONDUCTS STICKER CAMPAIGN TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS REGARDING DRUG ABUSE.

April 17: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and raise public awareness under the 100 Days Action Plan, a sticker campaign under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan was led by the Worthy SSP Shopian.

The campaign commenced from the Clock Tower Shopian and aimed to sensitize the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse while promoting a drug-free society. Stickers carrying awareness messages such as “Say No to Drugs” were distributed and pasted on vehicles and at prominent public places to maximize outreach. The stickers were affixed by senior officers of Police, along with senior citizens and other participants, symbolizing a united stand against drug abuse.

Senior police officers, senior citizens and various stakeholders from civil society actively participated in the initiative, reflecting a collective commitment towards eradicating the drug menace from the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the SSP Shopian emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in tackling drug abuse and urged the public, especially the youth, to stay away from narcotics. He highlighted that awareness and community participation are key to achieving the vision of a drug-free society. He further appealed to the public that if they come across any kind of crime or drug-related activity, they should immediately contact the nearest police station or share information through police helpline numbers. He assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential and every piece of information will be acted upon promptly.

Shopian Police reiterated its dedication to safeguarding the youth and ensuring a healthy, drug-free environment through sustained awareness and community engagement programs.

Vivek Bali Demands Increase in Monthly Relief Assistance for Kashmiri Pandit Community

Srinagar , April 15, : Vivek Bali, State President , Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), has strongly demanded an immediate increase in the monthly relief assistance provided to the Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community, citing the growing financial hardships faced by displaced families.

In a statement issued today, Vivek Bali expressed deep concern over the economic challenges confronting the Kashmiri Pandit community, many of whom continue to live in exile and depend heavily on government relief for their survival. He emphasized that the current relief amount is insufficient to meet the rising cost of living, including expenses related to food, healthcare, education, and housing.

“Despite the passage of several years, the pain and struggles of displaced Kashmiri Pandit families remain unaddressed. The existing financial assistance is no longer adequate in today’s economic scenario,” said Vivek Bali.

He urged the government to take immediate and compassionate action by revising and increasing the monthly relief package to ensure a dignified and sustainable livelihood for the affected families. He further stressed that the government must prioritize the welfare of the KP community and address their long-pending demands with seriousness and urgency.

Vivek Bali also called for a comprehensive review of all relief and rehabilitation policies concerning the Kashmiri Pandits, including better employment opportunities for youth, improved living conditions in migrant camps, and expedited measures for safe and dignified return to the Valley.

Reaffirming his party’s commitment, Vivek Bali stated that SBSP will continue to raise its voice for the rights and welfare of the Kashmiri Pandit community at every platform.

Srinagar , 10 April:- Vivek Bali , State President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), Jammu and Kashmir, today held a crucial meeting to strategize for the upcoming Local Body and Panchayat Elections, signaling the party’s intensified political push across the region.
