Four Students Injured in Old Shell Explosion in Kulangam, Kupwara

KUPWARA, Oct 29:- Four students were injured on Tuesday after an old shell exploded near the paddy fields close to Nobel School in Kulangam districtof Kupwara.

The victims, identified as Sajid Rashid (14, Class 7), Uzair Tahir Bhat, Hazim Shabir Beigh, and Ziyan Tahir Bhat, sustained multiple injuries in the blast.

All four were immediately rushed to GMC Handwara for treatment, where their condition is said to be stable.

Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the nature of the explosive and how it ended up near the fields.

Traffic advisory issued in veiw of Darbar Move 2025–26

In view of the Darbar Move of offices from Srinagar to Jammu for the winter season 2025–26, no goods carriers (HMVs/MMVs) will be allowed to move from Jammu towards Srinagar on November 1 and 2.

However, LMVs will be allowed from both ends, while down-movement of HMVs/MMVs from Srinagar to Jammu will be regulated based on the Darbar Move convoy schedule.

Goods carriers transporting perishables or livestock are advised to plan their travel as per Traffic Police HQ advisories.
