●6 Sept: Brief spell of Rain/thunder at few places.
●7-8 Sept: A spell of light Rain/thunder at scattered to many places of J&K with possibility of moderate rain/thunder over few dists of JMU Div towards late night/early morning hours.
●9-12 Sept: Brief spell of Rain/thundershower activity at few places.
●Overall nothing significant till 12th September.

● *Possibility of Landslides/shooting stones etc at few vulnerable places.*

Traffic update at 0900 hrs
Traffic plying on Mughal Road (only LMVs) and SSG road as per advisory. However, Jammu-Srinagar NHW is still closed for vehicular movement. Restoration work is going on. People are advised not to undertake journey on NH-44 till the restoration work is completed. Don’t pay heed on the rumors. Please check the status of roads at traffic Police Twitter Handle, page and TCUs.

After yesterday’s breach on the Jhelum embankment at Zoonipora, we are witnessing encouraging developments. Early signs of reverse flow have been observed at the breach site (from Zoonipora back into the Jhelum). This positive trend is further substantiated by the fact that water levels in the inundated villages have significantly receded, while outpouring towards downstream areas has also significantly reduced.
Our relief operations are continuing with a primary focus on restoring basic/essential services to the affected villages particularly safe drinking water and electricity. Restoration works and assessment of damages will follow up.
The District Administration remains committed to the safety and relief of all the affected communities.
