Here’s a polished news draft based J&K Athlete Association Issues Ultimatum Over Delayed Appointment Letters, Warns of Chain Hunger Strike

Srinagar, September 8:The Jammu & Kashmir Athlete Association has issued an ultimatum to the government over the alleged delay in issuing appointment letters to selected Outstanding Sportspersons under S.O. 12, warning that it may launch a peaceful chain hunger strike if the appointments are not finalized within the promised timeframe.

The Association said sportspersons who have represented Jammu & Kashmir and the nation have been waiting for years for their legitimate appointments despite their dedication, discipline and sacrifices in the field of sports.

According to the Association, the government has already progressed with the selection process, while the Sports Minister, **Satish Sharma**, has stated that the recruitment process is being finalized shortly.

The athletes, however, have called for concrete action instead of further assurances.

The Association has put forward four key demands: immediate issuance of appointment letters, completion of all pending verification and formalities within a fixed timeframe, a clear timeline for joining, and protection of the legitimate rights of all genuinely selected sportspersons.

The Association said it respects the government and democratic institutions but maintained that the patience of the affected athletes is running out.

It warned that if appointment letters are not issued within the promised timeframe, the Association will initiate a peaceful chain hunger strike as a “last democratic measure” outside the residence or office gate of the Sports Minister.

“We gave our youth to sports — now give us our rightful appointments,”the Association said.
