Advocate Azad Parwaz, Constituency Incharge Handwara and PDP Youth General Secretary for North Kashmir, has expressed deep appreciation for the sustained efforts of Hon’ble Manoj Sinha under the Nasha Mukht Bharat initiative, particularly the scheduling of the Anti-Drug Padyatra in District Kupwara on 13th May.
In his statement, Advocate Azad Parwaz said that the growing menace of drug addiction has emerged as a grave threat to society, devastating countless families and putting the future of the younger generation at risk. He emphasized that the fight against narcotics cannot be won by the administration alone and requires active participation and collective responsibility from every section of society.
He further stated that such awareness campaigns and public outreach programmes are vital in strengthening the resolve against drug abuse and in guiding the youth towards a healthier and more constructive future. He urged the people, particularly the youth, to participate wholeheartedly in the padyatra and contribute towards making society drug-free.

Acting against illegal narcotics cultivation, Police Station Handwara registered FIR No. 98/2026 under Section 8/18 NDPS Act against a Hangha resident for cultivating poppy straw illegally. The crop was destroyed on the spot in presence of Revenue and Excise officials after completing all legal formalities. Authorities reaffirmed strict action against drug related activities in the area.
