Anantnag Police Seizes Two Tractors Carrying Illegally Extracted Mining Material in Uttersoo

Anantnag, Aug 13: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals, Anantnag Police today seized two tractors carrying illegally extracted mining material in the Cheerpora area of Police Station Uttersoo.

During patrolling, a police party of PS Uttersoo intercepted two tractors bearing registration numbers JK13E-4993 and JK03N-2734, being driven by Adil Ahmad Wagay, son of Bashir Ahmad Wagay, resident of Krad, and Rahil Khursheed Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmad Wani, resident of Cheerpora, respectively.

Both tractors were found carrying illegally extracted boulders/mining material. The vehicles along with the illegally transported material were seized on the spot.

In this regard, FIR No. 82/2026 under Sections 305(e) BNS and 3 PPD Act has been registered at Police Station Uttersoo, and further investigation has been initiated.

Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to curb illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals and will continue strict enforcement against violations causing damage to public resources and the environment.

BJP J&K suspends Er. Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, District President, Pulwama, with immediate effect.

In view of the FIR alleging extortion registered against him, disciplinary proceedings have been initiated. Pending finalisation of the proceedings, he has been suspended from all organisational posts and responsibilities of the Bharatiya Janata Party, including the post of District President, Pulwama.

The party reiterates its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of discipline, integrity and morality in public life.

//: A bike rider, Rayees Ahmad Gadda of Marhama, Sangam, was killed while four others were injured in a road accident near the stone quarry at Achabal. The injured were shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment. Police have started an investigation.

Foundation stone of Masjid Buqai-e-Sidique was laid at Dangerpora in Anantnag on Tuesday by renowned Islamic preachers.

The event was attended by elderly people, children, men and women, as well as Ulma and Islamic scholars from different schools of thought.

The Masjid Committee, Buqai-e-Sidique, has appealed to the public to generously contribute towards the construction of the mosque. The bank account details for donations have been provided in the video.
