Drishti Pawan Sharma from Jammu to Officiate in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12

The sports community in Jammu is abuzz with excitement as Drishti Pawan Sharma, daughter of Pawan Kumar Sharma from Pounichack, has been selected to officiate in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12. Drishti, who cleared her AKFI exam in 2022, made a successful debut in PKL Season 11, showcasing her professionalism and commitment. Now, she's set to take on officiating responsibilities in Season 12, starting in Visakhapatnam on August 29.

Her selection is a matter of pride for Jammu and a source of inspiration for young sports enthusiasts, especially girls looking to pursue careers in professional sports. 𝗦𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗿, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 29, 2025:
Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, chaired preparatory meetings at the APHQ Conference Hall, Srinagar, to review arrangements for two upcoming mega events — Jashn-e-Dal 2025 and Run for Unity – Kashmir Marathon 2025.

Jashn-ne-Dal 2025 is scheduled to be held from 13th to 15th September 2025 at the back lawns of SKICC, Srinagar. The three-day event will feature water sports, cultural programmes, and recreational competitions, aimed at promoting sportsmanship, youth participation, and community engagement. Over 3,000 athletes from across the country are expected to take part in the festival.

The Run for Unity – Kashmir Marathon 2025 is scheduled for 2nd October 2025 at the Police Golf Course, Srinagar. The marathon will be held in 12 different categories, encouraging wide-scale participation from athletes and fitness enthusiasts. Both events are being organised under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of J&K Police.
During the meeting, Shri Anand Jain reviewed and finalised comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the events, viz Traffic management, Deployment of police personnel and security arrangements, medical facilities and emergency care,
Transportation and telecom support, Media coverage and publicity, Refreshments and hospitality for athletes.
The meeting was attended among others by, Sh. Junaid Mehmood, IPS, DIG IRP Kashmir, Sh. Shahid Mehraj, IPS, DIG AP Kashmir, Sh. Aijaz Ahmad, IPS, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, All Commandants of Srinagar City–based Battalions, Sh. Manoj Pandita, SSP, AIG Comn PHQ J&K, Sh. Munir Ahmad, SSP APCR Kashmir, Dr. Irfana Gani, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Srinagar, Representatives from various wings and sports associations.

North Zone Scores 308/6 Against East in Duleep Trophy
Bengaluru, Aug 28: In a notable performance, North Zone scored 308/6 against East Zone in the Duleep Trophy at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence Ground. Kanhaiya Wadhawan, a talented wicketkeeper-batter from J&K, played a crucial role in guiding North Zone to a decent total. He crafted an unbeaten 42, showcasing his solidity and sublimity with the bat.

Earlier, the opening duo of Shubham Khajuria (26) and Ankit Kumar (30) provided a solid foundation for North Zone. Ayush Badoni (63), Yash Dhull (39), and Nishant Sindhu (47) also made significant contributions, while Kanhaiya and MJ Dagar (28*) guided the team to a respectable total.

Badoni was the top scorer with a quickfire 63 off 60 balls, featuring 7 boundaries. Kanhaiya's unbeaten 42 off 92 balls included 3 boundaries. The highlight of the match was the debut of four J&K players - Shubham Khajuria, Auqib Nabi, Kanhaiya Wadhawan, and Sahil Lotra - in the prestigious Duleep Trophy.

Manishi was the most successful bowler for East Zone, taking 3 wickets for 90 runs in 19 overs. The match is currently interrupted due to rain, with North Zone at 308/6 in 75.2 overs.
