JAMMU, MAY 10: The Government of Jammu & Kashmir appreciates all its citizens for their continued resilience and trust in the face of recent developments. All the necessary measures are being taken and the government is fully prepared and equipped to handle any situation and there is no cause for alarm.

The general public is requested to stay calm and not panic. Please follow SOPs issued by NDMA and Government in this regard.

Misinformation and unverified claims circulating on social media can cause unnecessary panic. The residents are strongly advised to avoid engaging with or spreading rumours. Trust only credible news channels and government communications for accurate information.
The Government is fully prepared to deal with any kind of exigency and is continuously monitoring the situation. Health department has fully activated its emergency protocols and is fully prepared to handle any medical exigencies.
The cooperation of the public in maintaining peace and discipline during these times is crucial.
Public in general and media persons in particular are requested to be responsible in sharing information and follow the guidelines issued by government in this regard.

Ministry of Defence tweets, "Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot & Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today. The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported. India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people."

*Schools Closed In Parts Of Kashmir, Most Places In Jammu Region; KU Postpones Exam*

*Civilian Flight Operations Suspended At Srinagar Airport*

Srinagar, May 7(GNS): Authorities on Wednesday ordered closure of all educational institutions in Kupwara, Baramulla and Gurez area in Bandipora district amid prevailing situation.

When contacted Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri told GNS that schools and other educational institutions shall remain closed in Kupwara, Baramulla and Gurez area of Bandipora.

Similarly, Educational institutions have been ordered to be closed in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts by Divisional Authorities.

Further Kashmir University has postponed all exams scheduled by the varsity for today. According to statement by KU to GNS, fresh schedule for exams which have been postponed shall be notified separately.

Meanwhile, Indian airforce has suspended civilian flight operation at Srinagar airport.

Pertinently, Srinagar Airport is not a civilian but a defence airport.(GNS)

Air India flight to TeL AVIV diverted over missile attack,airline suspends ops

A Houthi missile strike near Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday caused an Air India flight from Delhi to divert to Abu Dhabi, also prompting the airline to immediately suspend all Tel Aviv operations until May 6.

DC Srinagar visits NEET Exam Centers in District to inspect arrangements

SRINAGAR MAY 04:- Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat (IAS) Sunday undertook a visit to NEET (National Eligibility cm Entrance Test) Centers in the District to have firsthand appraisal about the facilities made available at these Centers for smooth conduct of the examination.

The DC inspected various examination Centers including Amar Singh College, SP College, SP Higher Secondary, College of Education where he inquired about the facilities made available for the Students and inspected the available arrangements.

During the visit the Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the concerned authorities

Notably, Magistrates were deployed at all the examination centers by the District Administration, besides District Police had also put in place all necessary security arrangements for smooth conduct of examination.
