Aabid Hussain Khan Appeals to LG, CM and Waqf Minister for SDRF Engagement of Rescue Volunteer Hamza Bhai
Devsar, Kulgam: BJP Senior Leader, Former District President Kulgam and Ex-District Executive Officer Waqf Board Kulgam, Shri Aabid Hussain Khan, has appealed to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah and Hon’ble Minister of State for J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi to consider the case of Hamza Ahmad Sheikh (Hamza Bhai) for suitable engagement in the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), strictly as per applicable rules, eligibility and reserved-quota provisions, wherever permissible.
Aabid Hussain Khan said that Hamza Bhai has devoted considerable time to humanitarian rescue operations, particularly in the search and recovery of bodies from rivers and other difficult locations across Jammu & Kashmir. His field experience and commitment to helping families during extremely difficult circumstances deserve recognition and encouragement.
“Hamza Bhai has spent a significant part of his time serving humanity through rescue and recovery operations. At the same time, he has family responsibilities, including the need to support his ailing parents. I appeal to the concerned authorities to examine his case sympathetically and, if permissible under the rules, provide him an opportunity to serve in SDRF, where his practical field experience could be utilised for disaster-response work,” Aabid Hussain Khan said.
He further stated that such an opportunity would not only provide greater livelihood security to Hamza Bhai and his family, but could also enable him to continue his humanitarian service through a structured disaster-response mechanism.
Aabid Hussain Khan urged the concerned authorities to examine the matter on humanitarian grounds while fully observing recruitment rules, eligibility criteria and applicable legal provisions, so that a dedicated volunteer and his family do not face undue hardship.
