*SSP Anantnag Disengages SPO for Dereliction in SANJY Duty*

Anantnag, 09 July 2026:
In a firm action to uphold discipline and accountability during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, SSP Anantnag Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS has ordered the disengagement of one Special Police Officer (SPO), namely Shabir Ahmad Ganie, S/o Abdul Hamid Ganie, R/o Primegam Hiller Shahabad, Dooru, for gross dereliction of duty.

The SPO had been duly detailed for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 deployment. However, despite being nominated and directed to report for duty, he failed to join his assigned place of deployment without any valid justification or prior permission, thereby exhibiting serious negligence and indiscipline during a critical security assignment. Taking a serious view of the misconduct, SSP Anantnag ordered his immediate disengagement from service.

Anantnag Police reiterates that discipline, dedication, and professionalism are paramount, particularly during high-profile security operations such as the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Any negligence or dereliction of duty will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the rules, while sincere and dedicated personnel will continue to be encouraged and appreciated.
