In a significant development towards strengthening rail connectivity in Jammu & Kashmir, the Northern Railways has accelerated key operational and redevelopment works in the Jammu division to initiate a direct train service between Jammu and Srinagar.

Currently, services operate up to Katra in Reasi district. As per senior officials, track-related works between Jammu and Katra are nearly complete, while civil infrastructure upgrades including platforms and station facilities at Jammu Railway Station are in the final phase.

The initiative is being closely monitored, with expectations that existing bottlenecks will be cleared soon. The target is to commence direct movement once full readiness is achieved.

The iconic USBRL (Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link) continues to stand as a hallmark of India’s modern engineering — featuring the world’s tallest railway bridge over the Chenab, and India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge at Anji Khad.

A transformative milestone for travel, trade, and regional connectivity is now within reach. 🚆✨

اللہ جب آزمائش میں ڈالتا ہے تو ساتھ صبر کی طاقت بھی عطا کرتا ہے۔ اللہ پر بھروسہ رکھو، وہ تمہیں کبھی تنہا نہیں چھوڑے گا۔ جلد ہی تمہیں اپنی دعاؤں کی قبولیت نظر آئے گی، اور دل سکون سے بھر جائے گا۔ ان شاء اللہ ❤️

In a decisive move to uphold road safety and deter high-risk driving behavior, Baramulla Police have detained an individual involved in a recent stunt biking incident that surfaced on social media.

The person identified as Shahid Assad Dar, resident of Puthar Kreeri, was seen performing dangerous motorcycle stunts in a circulating video. He has been booked under Sections 184 and 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act, and the motorcycle used for the violation has been seized.

This action was executed by Police Station Gulmarg, under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg and SHO PS Gulmarg, reinforcing Baramulla Police’s sustained commitment to disciplined traffic management and public safety.

Ensuring safe roads is a collective responsibility, and strict enforcement remains a key operational priority.

Police authorities, in collaboration with Animal Aid Kashmir, Wildlife Protection Department, and Municipal Council Baramulla, conducted a coordinated inspection at an unlicensed pet shop in Baramulla.
During the operation, several animals were rescued and safely handed over to the NGO as per formal procedure.

Legal action has been initiated under Section 36 of the Police Act, and the shop has been directed to remain closed until a valid licence is secured.

This initiative reinforces the commitment of Baramulla Police towards safeguarding animal welfare and preventing illegal trade. The public is encouraged to report any instance of animal cruelty or unauthorized pet trading.

𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 & 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 (𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁)

The upper reaches of the region recently experienced light to moderate snowfall, particularly in areas such as Gulmarg and other high-altitude zones. Following this short wet spell, the Meteorology Department has indicated a dry weather phase across most areas for the next 10 to 15 days (approximately November 6 to November 15).

This shift is expected to result in:

Clear and stable weather conditions

Notable dip in day and night temperatures from November 5 onward

Improved travel accessibility, though cold conditions will intensify

While the snowfall brought delight to tourists and winter enthusiasts, the brief rain/snow activity also momentarily influenced agricultural activities in certain sectors.

𝗘𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱

The Government of India has officially established the 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC), marking a key step towards restructuring the salary, pension, and allowance framework for around 50 lakh central government employees and nearly 69 lakh pensioners across the country.

The commission will be chaired by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai (Retd. Supreme Court), alongside Prof. Pulak Ghosh (IIM Bangalore) and Shri Pankaj Jain (Petroleum Secretary) as members. Its charter focuses on performance-linked compensation, fiscal discipline, and alignment with evolving organizational needs, including both civil and defence sectors.

The panel has been allotted 18 months to finalize its recommendations, with the revised pay structure expected to be effective retrospectively from 1 January 2026. This structural reform is anticipated to enhance employee motivation, operational efficiency, and overall service delivery outcomes.

To strengthen road safety and ensure responsible driving, new strict regulations have been introduced:

• Breaking driving licence rules may lead to a fine of up to ₹1,00,000.
• Over-speeding penalties range from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000.
• If a minor is caught driving, a fine of ₹25,000 will be imposed and the vehicle registration will be cancelled.
• The minor will not be eligible to apply for a driving licence until the age of 25.
• Using a mobile phone while driving is strictly prohibited and will result in heavy penalties.

With deep sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Former MLA Rafiabad, who left for his eternal abode early this morning following a prolonged illness.

Namaz-e-Janaza is scheduled to be offered at 10:00 AM today.

May Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat and give strength and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. 🤲
