There are experiences, there are memories, and then there are Storiis.
Last week we left pre-pujo Kolkata behind and drove out to the Bengal countryside for a slow weekend at Storii by ITC Hotels Devasom Resort & Spa.The warm, rusty red interiors welcomed us with a cool breeze and a Gondhoraj lassi, which is their “Storii in a bottle”. It celebrates the humble king of Bengal, the Gondhoraj lemon, that adds a flavourful zing to every food and beverage.
By the time we passed the Nataraja sculptures on the way to our villa, our pulse had pretty much settled. ITC Hotels Sleeep Amenities was waiting for us, in case we dropped like leaves after the weekend.
Then there was the “Storii in a box”, a brass tiffin stacked with some of Bengal’s most celebrated dishes, served with hot, puffy luchis. Chingri malai curry, kosha mangsho, the flavourful posto and so much more, all of it celebrating the state’s rich heritage and culinary tradition.
The work notifications faded out somewhere around the first stroke of a massage at K by Kalp Spa.
Then we worked through the cortisol with cooking and cycling, which, surprisingly, helped at least one of us put things in perspective. There was archery too, for anyone who wants to aim at their next move in life.
Would I recommend Storii Devasom Resort & Spa?
Absolutely. It’s a good one for anyone who needs a break from the week but still has Monday’s meeting to get back to.
