SRINAGAR: Chief Justice Dr. Pushpendra Singh Bhatti visited the Sadder Court complex at Muminabad, Batamaloo, on his maiden visit to the district judiciary, assuring lawyers and litigants of major infrastructural improvements and a renewed focus on cordial Bar Bench relations.
โDuring the visit, legal firm Sajad Mir and Associates hosted a felicitation ceremony attended by members of the Srinagar district judiciary and the local Bar fraternity.
โAlongside the Chief Justice, several key judicial officials were honored, including Registrar General M. K. Sharma, Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice Haq Nawaz Zarger, and newly posted Principal District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed Dar.
โPrior to interacting with members of the legal fraternity, the Chief Justice held a brief meeting with Srinagar judicial officers.
โAddressing the gathering, Chief Justice Bhatti pledged that judicial standards across Jammu and Kashmir would be elevated to the highest benchmark. He noted that existing district court infrastructure will undergo a comprehensive review to streamline access and enhance working conditions for both advocates and the litigating public.
โRepresenting the Bar, advocate Sajad Ahmed Mir submitted key grievances regarding pressing logistical hurdles. The concerns centered on acute infrastructural shortages notably chamber spaces, proper seating, sanitation facilities, and parking within the court complex alongside procedural bottlenecks affecting everyday litigants. Mir also underlined the urgent necessity of fostering institutional trust and cooperation between the Bar and the Bench.
โResponding to the representations, the Chief Justice promised priority action on legitimate grievances, stating that deficiencies would be redressed systematically to uphold institutional dignity.
โMir concluded the session with a formal vote of thanks, expressing confidence that the administration's proactive engagement marks a positive turn for district court operations.
