Srinagar: Hat Trick World Ganderbal celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and joy, which also marked the inauguration of the school’s newly designed activity room. The colourful event reflected the school’s commitment to creativity, innovation and holistic learning for every child.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, setting a calm and respectful start to the day. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain, Deputy Academic Director, who warmly greeted all guests, dignitaries, parents and appreciated their continued support for the school’s mission.

The event was beautifully hosted by young students of KG2 and Grade-1, including M. Jamin Hafiz (Grade 1) and Aalima Waseem (KG2), whose confidence and fluent presentation impressed everyone present.

The celebration was graced by Sheikh Gyas-Ud-Din, former CEO and currently JKNC District President Ganderbal, as the Chief Guest, along with Showkat Chowdhary, Chairman of the Chowdhury Group, who attended as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Gyas-Ud-Din appreciated the school’s role in providing quality education to the children of the area. “Education is the foundation of a strong society. Hat Trick World is doing a commendable job in shaping young minds with both knowledge and values,”

He said “I assure my full support in strengthening educational initiatives in our district,” he added.

Showkat Chowdhary, Chairman of Chowdhury Group, congratulated the school management and praised the efforts of teachers and students. “I am truly impressed by the dedication and creativity shown here today”.

Chowdhary said “Next year, we plan to introduce digital classrooms equipped with the latest technology to make learning more interactive and engaging for our students.”

He also unveiled the Admission Open for 2025-26, marking a major milestone for the school. The program included a presentation of the annual report highlighting the school’s achievements and future goals.

The event was also attended by several prominent educators and guests, including Ms. Sabiya Munir, Principal of IDPS Lar, Dr. Sheikh Tariq, Ms. Nahida (Administrator, HTPS) and Mr. M.D. Gojwari, Principal of Education Illahiya. Their presence added further grace and academic distinction to the event.

The cultural program was the highlight of the day, featuring beautiful performances by students on various themes. The audience enjoyed fusion songs, a traditional Rouf dance and a thought-provoking skit on the importance of respecting grandparents.

The skit, filled with emotional acting and meaningful dialogue, left the audience moved and reminded everyone about the value of gratitude, love and discipline in family life.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Sadaf Farooq, Principal of Hat Trick World School, expressed heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries, parents, media persons and the school staff.

PSAJK Acknowledges Unmatched Contributions of G.N. Var To Private Education Sector In J&K



Srinagar, 12 Oct, 2025: Emotional scenes were witnessed today as G.N Var, the long-serving State President of the Private Schools’ Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), announced his retirement after more than 15 years of exceptional leadership. His decision driven by personal reasons and new professional commitments marks the end of an extraordinary era that transformed the educational landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

Throughout his remarkable journey, Mr. Var emerged as the voice, strength and guardian of private education in the region. He stood firm during the most challenging times, safeguarding the interests of schools, teachers and students alike. His vision brought unity among private institutions, credibility to their work and recognition at both state and national levels.

At a deeply emotional gathering, members of the Executive Council and prominent educationists paid glowing tributes to his selfless service. Speakers hailed him as a “true legend of education”, whose tireless efforts not only elevated educational standards but also inspired a spirit of integrity, innovation and excellence within the schooling system of Jammu and Kashmir.

Over the years, G.N Var resolved thousands of pressing issues faced by schools and worked persistently for policy reforms, fair regulations and the overall dignity of the teaching fraternity and student community. His leadership not only brought credibility and strength to PSAJK but also elevated the standards and image of private education across the region.

Chief Organizer of PSAJK Shah Gulzar, said “G.N. Var’s dedication and tireless efforts have been pivotal in promoting the private school sector in Jammu and Kashmir. His vision, commitment to quality education and continuous support to educators have left an indelible mark on our community. We are deeply grateful for his service and leadership.”

Mr. Gulzar further added that while G.N Var’s retirement marks the close of a remarkable chapter, it also opens new opportunities for emerging leaders to build upon the strong foundation he has laid.

As G.N. Var retires, he expressed full confidence in the association’s future and extended his heartfelt best wishes to the newly appointed Adhoc President, Nazar-ul-Islam Baba, who will serve for a period of three months to oversee free and fair elections of PSAJK.

Mr. Var shared in an emotional farewell “Leadership is about creating more leaders. I have complete faith that PSAJK will continue to grow and safeguard the interests of private schools with unity, integrity and dedication. I am deeply grateful to all the office bearers, Executive Council members, general members and all district bodies of PSAJK, who have always supported me and stood by my side throughout this journey.”

Srinagar, 07 Oct, 2025: A grand Seerat-un-Nabi (ď·ş) Conference was organised by the Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT) in collaboration with the Shahre Khass Traders and Manufacturers Coordination Committee and Federation at Baitul Meeras Ghar, Aali Kadal, Srinagar. The event witnessed the participation of prominent religious scholars, community leaders, poets, traders and members of civil society.

The conference was presided over by M***i Meraj-ud-Din, Sadr M***i of Kashmir and attended by Moulana Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Advocate Abdul Rashid Hanjura (Founder & Chairman, IRRT Kashmir), Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik (President, Shahre Khass Traders and Manufacturers Coordination Committee & Federation), Chairman Sheikh Sajad and other dignitaries including Arif Ahmad Wani, Ajaz Ahmad Pampori, Shafat Ahmad Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Tanki, Ajaz Jeweller, Atif Ahmad Mir, Naza, Javeed Ahmad Wangno, Javeed Ahmad Zakura, Khursheed Ahmad Hakak, Mohammad Sadiq, Muzafar Ahmad, Omar Wani, Mohammad Ashraf Bazaz, Mohammad Ashraf Malik etc.

On this occasion, the Islamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT) announced the release of a financial aid amounting to ₹57,14,500 among scholarship beneficiaries to support orphan children pursuing quality education across schools, colleges and universities.

Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Abdul Rashid Hanjura, Founder and Chairman IRRT Kashmir, said “Following the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), we are committed to serving humanity through education and compassion. Today, IRRT has released ₹57.14 lakh for orphan children to help them continue their quality education. Along with education, we are also assisting poor families in simple marriage ceremonies to promote the Prophet’s message of simplicity and equality in Nikah. Our focus will remain on school, college and university students so that moral and ethical values are deeply rooted in them. I appeal to people to come forward and contribute to this noble cause.”

M***i Meraj-ud-Din, Sadr M***i of Kashmir, drew inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). He said “The life of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is a complete guide for all mankind. His Seerat teaches us compassion, honesty and justice in every sphere of life. In today’s era of materialism and moral decline, following the Seerat-un-Nabi (ﷺ) is the only way to bring peace and righteousness to our hearts, homes and society.”

Moulana Mohammad Ashraf Wani emphasized the importance of moral character and unity among Muslims. He remarked “The best tribute we can pay to the Prophet (ﷺ) is to implement his teachings in our personal and collective lives. Our youth should study the Seerat and embody the values of truthfulness, humility and service to humanity. The Prophet’s message is timeless, it brings light wherever there is darkness.”

Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik, President of Shahre Khass Traders and Manufacturers Coordination Committee & Federation, expressed gratitude to IRRT for organizing such an inspiring program in the heart of downtown Srinagar. He stated “The business community of Shahre Khass is proud to associate with IRRT in this noble mission. We stand committed to supporting educational upliftment, welfare of orphans and social causes that align with Islamic values. When trade and faith go hand in hand, society prospers with integrity and compassion.”

A special Natiya Mushaira was also held during the second session of the conference, presided over by noted senior poet Fayaz Tilgami. Around twenty renowned poets and writers from various districts of Kashmir participated, reciting soulful Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet (ď·ş). The session filled the atmosphere with devotion, spirituality and reverence.

The event concluded with Dua for peace, prosperity and unity in Jammu and Kashmir. A large number of guests, scholars, traders and poets attended the event, making it a memorable and spiritually enriching gathering.

Srinagar: World Teachers’ Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect by the Federation of All Private Indian Schools (FAP-India) in collaboration with the Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK), with Chandigarh University as the event partner, at Hotel Countryside, Srinagar.
On this special occasion, the FAP (India) State Awards 2025 were presented to honour outstanding schools, principals and teachers from Jammu and Kashmir for their excellence in education, sports and innovation.
The inaugural session began with a traditional Kashmiri “Izzband” welcome, symbolizing respect and culture. The ceremony was attended by hundreds of participants including school chairpersons, principals, teachers and students.
The event witnessed the participation of top education leaders and dignitaries from across India, including delegates from Punjab, Chandigarh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The program was organized under the leadership of Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President, FAP-India and G.N. Var, State President, Private Schools Association J&K (PSAJK).
The awards were presented in six categories: Best School (Academic & Sports Achievement), Best Principal Achievement and Best Teacher Achievement. In total, 300 schools, principals and teachers from Jammu and Kashmir were honoured for their dedication and exceptional contribution to education.
The Chief Guest for the opening session was Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of J&K, while the Guests of Honour included MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah, Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court, Adv. Zaffar A. Shah and Dr R. S Bawa Founding Vice Chancellor and Pro Chancellor Chandigarh University.
In his address, Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani appreciated the efforts of private schools in shaping the future generation. “Teachers are the true builders of our society. The government stands committed to supporting the private education sector through people-friendly policies and reforms that make education accessible, efficient and progressive,” he assured.
Advocate Zaffar A. Shah, Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court, highlighted the legal issues faced by private schools in Jammu and Kashmir. “There are several legal and administrative challenges that private institutions continue to face. These must be addressed urgently by the government to ensure that schools can operate smoothly and continue to provide quality education,” he said.
MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah also praised the private school community for their social contribution. “Private schools have played a vital role in the educational and social development of Jammu and Kashmir. They deserve every form of support. I especially commend Mr. G.N. Var for his selfless dedication towards improving education. His leadership, sincerity and consistent efforts for the betterment of students, schools and teachers are truly unmatched”.
The top honours of the event were presented to some of the leading names in the private education sector, including: Parvez Samuel Kaul, Director, Biscoe & Mallinson School; Vijay Dhar, Chairman, DPS Srinagar; Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Chairman, Green Valley Educational Institute.
In recognition of his selfless work for the environment, Manzoor Wangoo, Chairman NLCO, was honoured as the “Green Ambassador of Kashmir” for his outstanding contributions to environmental conservation and awareness in the region.
Other awardees included Fr. Stalin Raja, Principal Burn Hall School; Suresh Britto, Principal St. Joseph’s School Baramulla and Sr. Mary Jarsi, Principal Presentation Convent School.
The Best Headmistress Awards were presented to Ms. Mabel Yonzon (Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson School, Srinagar), Roy Mathews (The Kashmir Valley School, Budgam) and Aftab Ahmed Shah (Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson School, Tangmarg).
Adding colour to the event, students of DPS Srinagar presented a vibrant cultural program celebrating the spirit of teaching and learning.
The second session of the event was graced by Rajya Sabha Member, Ghulam Ali Khatana, who attended as the Chief Guest. During the evening session, Mr. Khatana distributed awards to outstanding principals and teachers from more than 200 schools in recognition of their excellence and dedication in the field of education.
In his address, Khatana praised the teaching fraternity for their dedication and the vital role they play in shaping the future of the nation. He said “Education is not just about academics, it is about building character and discipline. Our teachers and private schools have done remarkable work under difficult circumstances,”
Dr. Jagjit Singh Dhuri, President, FAP-India, while expressing gratitude to all guests and participants. He said “The FAP (India) State Awards are a humble tribute to the dedication of our teachers and principals who work tirelessly to shape young minds. We are thankful to the dignitaries, school leaders and educators who joined us from different parts of India to celebrate this world teachers day 2025. This initiative reflects our collective vision of recognizing merit and strengthening private education across the country.”
G.N. Var, President, PSAJK, also spoke on the occasion, highlighting the fair and transparent process of the awards. He said “These awards are given purely on merit, after a thorough screening process. Our aim is to motivate educators and schools to continue their excellent work. However, schools face many challenges, administrative and financial that need immediate attention from the government so that private institutions can function smoothly and continue contributing to nation-building”.
The Taleem-e-Aam Awards were presented to distinguished teachers representing various educational sectors, including Shah Fayaz, Chairman JKTA; Mohammad Shafi Rather, Chairman JKTF and Farooq Ahmad Tantray, Chairman JKReTTF.
The Excellent Management & PR Awards were conferred upon Mr. Feroze Mohiuddin, Secretary/PRO Burn Hall School; Mr. Aftab Hussain, Administrative Officer/PRO Tyndale-Biscoe & Mallinson School; and Mr. Rameez Ahmad Kawoosa, Secretary Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School.
The FAP (India) State Awards 2025 concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to continue strengthening the private education sector in Jammu and Kashmir. The event truly reflected respect for teachers, recognition of excellence and the spirit of collaboration between schools, educators, and policymakers.
