Shahre khass Traders And Manufacturers coordination committee and Federation Meets Commissioner, State Taxes Department
Srinagar, August 3, 2026: President of the Shahr-e-Khass Traders Manufacturers Coordination Committee and Federation (SKTCCF), Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik, held a productive meeting with , JKAS, Commissioner of the State Taxes Department, Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, several important issues concerning the business community, traders, manufacturers, and GST-related matters were discussed in detail. Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik highlighted the challenges faced by traders in understanding GST compliance, online return filing, digital documentation, and the use of the GST portal.
Shri Prediman Krishen (P.K.) Bhat (JKAS) responded positively to the concerns raised by the Federation and assured full cooperation from the State Taxes Department. He emphasized that the Department is committed to making GST compliance easier and more accessible for traders and manufacturers across Jammu and Kashmir.
It was mutually agreed that GST awareness and training camps will be organized in Shahr-e-Khass to educate traders and manufacturers on GST registration, return filing, online compliance, invoicing, and the effective use of the GST portal, enabling them to independently manage their GST-related work with confidence.
Speaking after the meeting, Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Malik thanked Shri Prediman Krishen (P.K.) Bhat (JKAS), Commissioner, State Taxes Department, Jammu and Kashmir, for his positive approach and valuable support. He said that these awareness programmes would empower the business community with practical knowledge, improve GST compliance, and strengthen the overall trading sector.
The Shahr-e-Khass Traders Manufacturers Coordination Committee and Federation expressed its gratitude to Shri Prediman Krishen (P.K.) Bhat (JKAS) and the State Taxes Department for their cooperation and looked forward to the successful implementation of the proposed GST awareness and training initiatives for the benefit of traders and manufacturers.
