Jhelum Turns Silent Witness: Two Brothers Drown in Bijbehara Tragedy, Wedding Dreams Shattered

Anantnag, Apr 13: In a tragic incident, two brothers drowned in the Jhelum River at Padshahibagh, Bijbehara, after accidentally slipping into the water while washing livestock.

Officials said one brother slipped first, and the other lost his life while trying to save him.

The deceased have been identified as Majid Bashir and Shahid Bashir, sons of Bashir Ahmad Malik of Jablipora.

Rescue teams, including Police and SDRF, rushed to the spot, but both could not be saved. Their bodies were later retrieved.

Locals said Majid was set to get married next month, casting a deep shadow of grief across the area.

Tragedy in Anantnag: Missing Boy & Minor Girl Found Dead in Abandoned House

Srinagar, Apr 14: In a heartbreaking incident, police on Monday recovered the decomposed bodies of a young boy and a minor girl from an abandoned house in Kamad village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Officials told news agency that the bodies were discovered by locals this morning, who immediately alerted the police. A police team rushed to the spot, and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team collected samples from the site for further investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest it to be a suspected case of su***de, officials said.

The deceased have been identified as a 25-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, both residents of a nearby village, who had been missing since March 18.

After completion of medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to their families for last rites. Meanwhile, police have initiated further investigation into the matter.

Police Tighten Noose: Srinagar Theft Network Busted, 11 Accused Including Arif Najar Alias Sharukh & Shahid Kalla Held

Srinagar, Apr 12: In a sharp and result-oriented operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested 11 individuals in connection with theft cases and recovered stolen property in Srinagar.

The accused have been identified as Arif Ahmad Najar alias Sharukh, Shahid Ahmad Lone alias Shahid Kalla, Bilal Ahmad Dar alias Bilal Sharabi, Mansoor Yousuf Pampori alias Basit, Mohd Rafiq Ganaie, Owais Manzoor, Tahir Habib Shagoo, Muneeb Farooq alias Michal, Suhail Sadiq Joo, Shahid Ahmad Bhat, and Tariq Ahmad Dar.

Police said the arrests were made during investigation of two FIRs, with disclosures by the accused leading to recoveries in the presence of independent witnesses.

All accused have been formally arrested, and further investigation is underway.

Waseem Hassan of Buchpora Soura, Srinagar Killed in Tragic NH-48 Rajasthan Crash

Srinagar, Apr 12: Tragedy struck as a young man from Buchpora Soura lost his life in a devastating road accident on NH-48 Jaipur Expressway in Rajasthan.

Waseem Hassan succumbed to critical injuries after the Thar vehicle he was travelling in collided with a container truck. Another occupant, Farzan Ahmad Lone of the same area, sustained injuries and is reported to be stable.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
