*Mohammad Ashraf Dar Raises Concern Over Faulty Macadamization in Kursoo Rajbagh Extension*
Kursoo Rajbagh Extension, Srinagar July 25:
Social activist Mohammad Ashraf Dar has expressed serious concern over the ongoing macadamization work in Kursoo Rajbagh Extension, highlighting that the quality of work is substandard and the material used is not holding up even for a single day.
He said, “For the past eight days, macadam is being laid on the roads here, but as soon as vehicles pass over it, the surface starts breaking apart.” This clearly reflects poor workmanship and the use of low-quality materials.
Dar has appealed to the Chief Engineer to take immediate note of the issue and ensure proper inspection. He also urged the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to personally visit the area to assess the situation firsthand.
He questioned the absence of site supervisors, alleging that some of them appear to be in collusion with NC party workers, and instead of proper groundwork, mud is being directly macadamized, which is against all standards of road construction.
“When we raised our concerns with the workers yesterday, they simply scolded us and said it will be fixed later,” Dar added. “This is public infrastructure and it must be done properly.”
He emphasized the need for accountability and transparency, stating that he did not see any AEE, JEE , or Executive Engineer at the site only a contractor and political workers were present.
