“He left the BJP, he left the PDP, and he wants to lecture me on principles and party loyalty?” Srinagar MP Syed Aga Ruhullah () tore into leader and Jammu & Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary () accusing him of political opportunism.

“My fight is driven by principles, not positions. I have never switched parties for a chair, nor have I ever compromised on my values for power.

“Just two years ago, he didn’t even have an address in the National Conference. One day his hand is with the BJP, another day with the PDP, wherever he sees a chair or an opportunity, he goes. His politics has no principles, no values and no direction.

“My politics is rooted in principles and values. Even my disagreements with my own party are based on those principles, not on the desire for power.

“People whose lives and politics have nothing to do with discipline, integrity, honesty or sincerity, I don’t believe they even deserve a response.”

Srinagar MP Syed Ruhullah Mehdi () on Wednesday shot down speculation about launching his own political party.

Speaking at a detailed press conference in Ganderbal, Mehdi said he has “no such plans” and that the chatter around a new party “doesn’t matter to me at all.”

The MP used the occasion to air his growing disagreements with the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, taking aim at the party’s silence on key issues.

Mehdi also delivered a scathing critique of the ongoing demolition drive, the reservation policy, and the Waqf Amendment Bill, accusing representatives of failing the people during the Ganderbal demolitions.

Responding to Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary’s recent remarks about him, Mehdi didn’t hold back: “He keeps changing… In his life there are no values, no principles.”

Multiple electronic devices, including laptops, desktops, CPUs & mobile phones, were seized for forensic examination, per reports.
