AEE R&B Sub Division Kunzer Conducts Detailed Inspection of NTR Road; Action Initiated Against Drainage Issues and Illegal Vehicle Washing Points

Department has set a timeline of two weeks for effective action and implementation of the directives

Dar desk

Kunzer, June 03: The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), R&B Sub Division Kunzer Shabir Ahmad today conducted a comprehensive inspection of NTR Road and adjoining areas to assess the prevailing condition of roads, drainage systems, and related public infrastructure issues.

During the detailed visit, several locations along the road were inspected where issues such as drainage leakage, overflowing drains, waterlogging, and roadside vehicle washing activities were found causing inconvenience to the general public and posing a threat to the durability of public infrastructure.

Taking serious note of the situation, the AEE directed the concerned officials and field staff to immediately initiate measures for the complete clearance and restoration of NTR Road. Special focus has been laid on improving the drainage network by removing sewage deposits, waste material, and other blockages accumulated in drains alongside the road to ensure smooth water flow and prevent further damage to roads and surrounding areas.

The inspection team also observed that illegal vehicle washing points had been established at several spots along NTR Road, leading to continuous discharge of wastewater onto the road surface and drains. Such activities were found contributing significantly to road deterioration, drainage blockage, and unhygienic conditions in the area.

In this regard, the concerned departments have been strictly directed to identify and shut down all unauthorized washing points operating along the road stretch. The administration has set a timeline of two weeks for effective action and implementation of the directives.

The AEE further stated that strict legal action shall be taken against individuals found washing vehicles on roads or creating any form of obstruction and public nuisance. The administration reiterated its commitment towards maintaining public infrastructure, ensuring proper sanitation, and safeguarding roads and drainage systems from misuse and damage.

Meanwhile, the general public has been appealed to cooperate with the administration in maintaining cleanliness and protecting public assets. Residents and vehicle owners were urged to refrain from practices that damage roads and drainage facilities and to support the efforts aimed at keeping the area clean, safe, and well-managed for the benefit of all.
