MLA Gulmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah Attends Drug Awareness Programme at Kunzer.

KUNZER, AUGUST 08: MLA Gulmarg Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah today attended a drug awareness programme as the Chief Guest at Town Hall, Kunzer, aimed at spreading awareness among youth about the serious dangers of drug abuse.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that drug abuse is not only a threat to the health and future of young people but also affects families and society as a whole. He stressed the need for collective efforts by parents, teachers, community members, security forces and civil society to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs.

The MLA urged young people to stay away from drugs, focus on education, sports and other positive activities, and become responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the development of society.

He appreciated the organisers for holding the awareness programme and said that such initiatives play an important role in educating young people and creating a strong community response against drug abuse.

The MLA also appreciated the young participants for their impressive performances during the programme, saying that their talent, creativity and energy should be encouraged and channelised towards constructive activities.

J&K Tourism Concludes Successful Participation at TTF Ahmedabad, Wins Best Adventure Tourism Destination Award

Ahmedabad, 9 August 2026: Jammu & Kashmir Tourism concluded its vibrant three-day participation at the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad, emerging as one of the major attractions for travel trade, tourism stakeholders and visitors at the prestigious event.

*Baramulla Police Intensify Security Vigil; Surprise Inspection of SIM Vendors Conducted in Pattan, KYC Compliance Reviewed*

As part of its ongoing security measures and efforts to ensure strict compliance with prescribed guidelines, Baramulla Police today conducted a surprise inspection of SIM vendors in Pattan.

During the inspection, compliance with prescribed Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, maintenance of requisite records, and adherence to applicable guidelines was thoroughly checked.

The vendors were briefed and directed to ensure proper documentation, verification of customer credentials, and strict adherence to prescribed procedures during the issuance and activation of SIM cards.

Baramulla Police reiterated that strict compliance with KYC norms is essential to prevent misuse of SIM cards and strengthen public safety and security.

DIG Maqsood Ul Zaman, IPS reviewed Independence Day 2026 parade preparations at Zewan

August 08: Deputy Inspector General of Police Maqsood ul Zaman, IPS, (Overall Supervisory Officer IDP 26) convened meeting of all Subordinate Supervisory officers and Nodal Officers of other departments associated with Independence Day Parade-2026 at APC Zewan to review the arrangements and preparations for presentation of ceremonial Independence Day Parade 2026.

During the meeting, the chair was apprised of the status of preparedness by the concerned officers. All aspects related to the conduct of the ceremonial parade were reviewed in detail and inter-departmental coordination issues were discussed threadbare. The DIG issued necessary directions to all stakeholders to ensure the successful, smooth and colorful presentation of the Independence Day Parade.

Emphasis was laid on ensuring comfortable accommodation and timely refreshments for all parade contingents. The chair also stressed the need for maintaining high standards of turnout, effective coordination among participating units and achieving precision and synchronization in drill to uphold the dignity and ceremonial excellence of the event.

بارہمولہ // شیری نارواو بارہمولہ سے تعلق رکھنے والے جموں و کشمیر پولیس کے ریٹائرڈ سب انسپکٹر خورشید احمد بابا مختصر علالت کے بعد ایس کے آئی ایم ایس صورہ میں انتقال کر گئے۔ ان کے انتقال کی خبر پھیلتے ہی شیری اور گرد و نواح کے علاقوں میں غم کی لہر دوڑ گئی۔

مرحوم خورشید احمد بابا نے جموں و کشمیر پولیس میں اپنی خدمات انجام دینے کے بعد بحیثیت سب انسپکٹر ریٹائرمنٹ حاصل کی تھی۔ وہ اپنے ملنسار، خوش اخلاق اور شائستہ مزاج کے باعث اپنے حلقۂ احباب اور علاقے میں عزت و احترام کی نگاہ سے دیکھے جاتے تھے۔

مرحوم اپنے پیچھے بچوں اور دیگر سوگواران کو غمزدہ چھوڑ گئے ہیں۔ ان کے بچوں میں ایڈووکیٹ رابعہ، وسیم خورشید بابا اور ایڈووکیٹ شنیف خورشید شامل ہیں۔

ان کے انتقال پر رشتہ داروں، دوست احباب، اہل علاقہ اور مختلف حلقوں سے تعلق رکھنے والے افراد نے اہل خانہ کے ساتھ تعزیت کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے مرحوم کے لیے مغفرت اور بلند درجات کی دعا کی ہے۔

سوگواروں نے اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کی ہے کہ وہ مرحوم کی تمام لغزشوں کو معاف فرمائے، انہیں **جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ مقام** عطا فرمائے اور پسماندگان کو یہ صدمہ برداشت کرنے کے لیے صبر و استقامت عطا کرے۔مرحوم کا نماز جنازہ ٹھیک30 :8 بجے ادا کیا جائے گا ۔
