Shuttering Washed Away in Flood near Trenz Bridge

In a distressing incident late this evening, the concrete shuttering belonging to Mohd Asif was severely damaged due to sudden flooding near Trenz Bridge in Shopian. The unexpected surge of water caused significant destruction to the structure, resulting in a loss estimated to be over ₹2 lakh.

Local residents have voiced concern over the impact of such losses on unemployed youth like Mohd Asif, who was investing in small-scale construction work to earn a livelihood. They have appealed to the administration to provide compensation to help him recover and rebuild.

Residents also expressed concern over the vulnerability of ongoing construction activities in the area, especially amid unpredictable weather conditions. Authorities are urged to assess the risks and take preventive measures in flood-prone zones to avoid such incidents in the future.
