Vitasta School of Law and Humanities Hosts Insightful Seminar on Practical Implications of New Criminal Laws with Nowgam Police Station
Srinagar, 25 SEP 2025– The Vitasta School of Law and Humanities today organized a highly informative seminar in collaboration with the Nowgam Police Station, focusing on the ground-level challenges and practical application of new criminal laws. The event provided a crucial bridge between theoretical legal education and the realities of law enforcement.
The seminar was graced by distinguished police officials who shared their invaluable field experience. DySP (Probationer) Shri Anwar Khan Ji and SHO Nowgam, Shri Mashrat Ahmad, served as the key resource persons. They enlightened the audience with practical examples from their daily duties, shedding light on the harsh realities and the extent to which new legislation is applicable in real-world scenarios. Their insights offered students a rare glimpse into the complexities of implementing laws on the ground.
The event was chaired by the Principal of Vitasta School of Law and Humanities, Shri Rakib Ahmad Zia. The entire program was coordinated by Smt. Sadaf Sareen Khan and Smt. Uzma Yaqoob who was also present throughout the event, providing support.
The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from the 3rd Semester students of the college. The logistical and managerial responsibilities were successfully handled by the student organizing team from the 2021 Batch, led by Shri Faizan Fayaz. His team, comprising Mohsin Mushtaq, Sadaf Ayoub, and Safeer Ahmad, coordinated the event seamlessly. Sheeraz Bhat was also present as a senior student representative.
A significant highlight of the seminar was an interactive session where students posed thoughtful questions to the police officers. The officers responded with candid and insightful answers, fostering a dynamic dialogue. The event concluded on a positive and encouraging note, with the presiding officers felicitating the event's anchor and other student speakers for their exemplary efforts.
The seminar successfully achieved its objective of providing law students with a practical perspective, complementing their academic curriculum and preparing them for future legal careers.
