*Bandipora Police Observes “Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption” Across the District.*

```Bandipora, August 5, 2025:
Reaffirming its commitment to integrity, accountability, and transparent administration, Bandipora Police today observed the “Day of Resolution for Freedom from Corruption” across the district.

The main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL) Bandipora, where Additional Superintendent of Police Bandipora,Shri.Ruhail Mircha-JKPS accompanied by DySP Headquarters Bandipora Shri Latief Khan - JKPS, led officers and officials in taking a solemn pledge to uphold ethical conduct and maintain the highest standards of honesty in public service.

Similar pledge-taking ceremonies were held at all police stations, units, and establishments across the district, encouraging personnel to resist and report corruption in any form.

Bandipora Police remains steadfast in its mission to promote corruption-free, citizen-centric policing, and continues to work towards building stronger public trust through transparency, accountability, and professional integrity.```

*Jammu Police Recover ₹20 Lakh in Cheating and Snatching Case; Two Arrested in Manwal Area.*

The Jammu Police have successfully recovered ₹20 lakh in connection with a case of cheating, criminal intimidation, and snatching, reported on 30th July 2025.

Accordingly a written complaint was submitted at Police Post Manwal by Sarita Kiran,W/o Shri Ravi Kumar, resident of Roop Nagar, Janipur, Jammu. In her complaint, she alleged that she had been deceived by *Asif Ali S/o Mohd Akhter, R/o Mansar,* along with an unidentified associate.

According to the complainant, the accused approached her with a fabricated story, claiming that his father was suffering from lung cancer and urgently required financial assistance. He further misrepresented that he was in possession of *500 grams of gold,* which he intended to sell to arrange funds for treatment.

Moved by the emotional plea, the complainant arranged ₹20 lakh and agreed to meet the accused at Surinsar. However, upon arrival, the accused along with his associate allegedly snatched the bag containing the cash and fled from the scene.

Based on the complaint, *FIR No. 97/2025 under Sections 318(4), 307, and 3(5) of the BNS* was registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, and the investigation was entrusted to *PSI Bhawani Singh, Incharge Police Post Manwal.*

Following swift and effective investigation by the Incharge Police Post Manwal, under the close supervision of *SHO Jhajjar Kotli,* both accused were apprehended:-

*1)Asif Ali S/o Mohd Akhter, R/o Chani Mansar.*

*2)Raquib S/o Shafi, R/o Chani Mansar.*

The police successfully recovered the entire amount of ₹20 lakh from the possession of the accused.

The entire operation was conducted under the close supervision of *SP Rural Jammu and SDPO Nagrota.*

Further investigation is ongoing.The recovered amount will be handed over to the victim only after seeking *proper orders from the Hon’ble Court,in line with the victim-centric approach emphasized in the newly implemented criminal laws.*

J&K ACB traps and arrests ASI Mohd Akram Choudhary of Railway Protection Force Jammu for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹20000

Jammu and Kashmir Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint alleging therein that public servant, namely, ASI Mohd Akram Choudhary, posted in Railway Protection Force Jammu, demanded illegal gratification from the complainant.

The accused ASI Mohd Akram Choudhary of Railway Protection Force, Jammu, demanded the bribe amounting to ₹1,00,000 from the complainant on the pretext of not arresting and involving the complainant in a theft case registered by RPF during the investigation of which the RPF team had visited the scrap shop of complainant. However, after negotiation, the said accused public servant has agreed to receive ₹50,000 from the complainant and demanded 1st installment of ₹20,000.

Since, the complainant didn’t want to pay bribe, he approached Anti Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law. On receipt of the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, which corroborated the demand of bribe by the public servant concerned and accordingly, a case FIR No. 16/2025 U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 was registered in Police Station ACB Jammu and investigation taken up.

During the course of investigation, a trap team headed by Gazetted rank officer was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and accused public servant was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ₹20,000 from the complainant in the presence of independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot by the ACB team after following due process of law. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses associated with the trap team. Moreover, search is also conducted in the residential house of the accused public servant in presence of independent witness and Magistrate.

Further investigation of the instant case is going on.
