AIP Delegation Visits Bereaved Families of Hajin Drowning Victims
Srinagar, May 10: A high-level delegation of Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) led by Senior AIP Leader and MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed today visited Chandargeer Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district to offer condolences and express solidarity with the families of the three youth who tragically drowned in River Jhelum while washing tents along the riverbank.
The deceased were identified as Sohail Ahmad Dar, 22, son of Ghulam Nabi Dar, Aadil Ahmad Dar, 18, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar and Sameer Ahmad Dar, son of Muhammad Jamal Dar, all residents of Chandargeer Hajin. The tragic incident has plunged the entire area into deep mourning and grief.
The delegation included AIP General Secretary Prince Parveez, Constituency Incharge Anayat Ahmad, District President Bandipora Farooq Ahmad Shah and AIP Youth Leader Irfan Mohiudin.
The AIP leaders visited all three bereaved families and conveyed condolences on behalf of Member of Parliament Er Rashid and the entire party leadership. While condoling with the families, Sheikh Khursheed described the incident as heartbreaking and deeply painful, stating that the loss of three young lives in a single incident has devastated the entire locality.
He said the deceased youth lost their lives while attempting to save one another, which reflects their courage, humanity and brotherhood. Sheikh Khursheed said no words can compensate the immense grief and trauma being suffered by the families.
The delegation prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and strength for the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss. The leaders also appreciated the efforts of locals, volunteers and rescue teams who participated in the rescue operation and helped retrieve the bodies from the river after hectic efforts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Khursheed said AIP stands firmly with the affected families in this difficult hour and assured them of every possible support. He urged the administration to provide adequate compensation and necessary assistance to the bereaved families in view of the tragic circumstances surrounding the incident.
The delegation reiterated that MP Baramulla Er Rashid and the entire AIP leadership share the grief of the families and stand shoulder to shoulder with them during this painful time.
