BJP Leaders Offer Prayers at Baba Sidh Goria Nath Ji Temple; Mela Concludes with Grand Dangal
RAMGARH : Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) visited the revered Baba Sidh Goria Nath Ji Temple at Swankha, Ramgarh, where they offered prayers and participated in the concluding ceremonies of the annual seven-day mela. BJP National General Secretary and J&K In-charge Shri Tarun Chugh highlighted the spiritual and cultural unity that such sacred sites uphold, stating that temples like Baba Sidh Goria Nath Ji’s are not only places of worship but also centers of community faith and national heritage. He praised the enduring influence of Baba Ji’s teachings rooted in devotion, discipline, and selfless service, and called on the public to preserve and promote such spiritual legacies.
BJP J&K President Shri Sat Sharma (CA) expressed appreciation for the overwhelming public participation and smooth organization of the mela, thanking the shrine board and local administration for their coordination. He noted that religious events like this not only promote harmony but also boost local economies and spiritual tourism. Shri Sat Sharma reaffirmed BJP’s commitment to protecting Jammu & Kashmir’s religious and cultural assets while supporting community-led events that strengthen the region’s spiritual identity.
BJP J&K General Secretary and MLA Ramgarh Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal informed that the annual mela commenced on July 3 and concluded on July 7, with the traditional dangal (wrestling competition) held on the final day drawing large public interest. He emphasized the shrine’s significance in attracting devotees from across J&K, Punjab, Haryana, and other states, and underscored its potential as a hub for religious tourism. Dr. Manyal also recounted the miraculous life story of Baba Sidh Goria Ji, as shared by Shri Ram Paul Dogra, describing his divine connection with Guru Gorakh Nath Ji and his journey from royal life to sainthood. He assured continued support for the development of the shrine in line with devotees' aspirations.
Among those present on the occasion were BJP leaders including Shri Chander Prakash Ganga MLA, Shri Surjeet Singh Slathia MLA, Shri Yudhvir Sethi MLA, Shri Garu Ram Bhagat MLA, and Smt. Priya Sethi (Former Minister), DDC Chairman Shri Keshav Dutt Sharma, DDC Members Shri Sarbjit Singh Johal, Smt. Anita, and Smt. Asha, along with Shri Abhimanyu Kalsotra (JKAS), BDO Ramgarh Smt. Neha Choudhary (JKAS), SHO Ramgarh, Tehsildar Ramgarh, former BDC Chairman Shri Darshan Singh, and former BDC Shri Radha Sham. The gathering reflected deep faith, cultural pride, and community solidarity.
