DC Bandipora reviews progress of Capex Works in Gurez Sub-Division

Stresses timely fund utilisation

BANDIPORA, APRIL 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of developmental works under District Capex and other schemes in Gurez Sub-Division.

The meeting focused on sector-wise and head-wise allotment and expenditure, including key sectors such as Minor Irrigation, R&B, Elementary and Secondary Education, Youth Services & Sports, Health, Urban Development, PHE, Un-tied Grants, BDC/DDC Grants, PRI works, ABDS, APDS, SSY, and other allied sectors.

Emphasizing financial discipline, the Deputy Commissioner directed proper utilisation of funds be ensured across all sectors. A detailed JE wise review was conducted, and the DC sought comprehensive expenditure details under each head.

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner expressed concern over slow progress in certain sectors and specifically took note of the poor performance of SSD Gurez during the previous year, stressing the need for marked improvement and greater accountability.

Highlighting the importance of coordination, the DC directed officers to work in close coordination with the Executive Engineers and the Superintending Engineer’s office to remove bottlenecks and accelerate implementation.

The DC further directed that no delay should be tolerated in ongoing works and that new works should be taken up immediately after necessary approvals. The Superintending Engineer was urged to hold regular review meetings with field staff.

The meeting concluded with directions to hold regular JE wise monthly review meetings for Gurez to ensure continuous monitoring and effective implementation of development works.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Maqbool Lone; Executive Engineer R&B Gurez; AEE, Junior Engineers and other concerned officials.
