CAT Jammu Imposes ₹10,000 Cost on Senior Advocate for Appearing Without Uniform, Making Derogatory Remarks Against Tribunal

JAMMU: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Jammu Bench, has imposed a cost of ₹10,000 on Senior Advocate Jahangir Ganai for appearing before the Tribunal without uniform during virtual proceedings and making derogatory remarks against the Court, as recorded in the order sheet.

The order was passed by a Bench comprising Judicial Member Diwakar Singh and Administrative Member Ram Mohan Johri, which observed that the senior advocate appeared before the Tribunal without uniform and, during the discussion, made derogatory remarks against the Court.

The Bench further observed that “he seems to be unapologetic for his appearance without uniform.”
