Non-Gazetted Employees of GMC Baramulla Protest Over Delay in Recruitment Rules

Baramulla, August 9:
Non-gazetted employees of Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla staged a peaceful protest demanding immediate formulation of Service Recruitment Rules, pending for the past six years. The posts were created in 2017 for five new medical colleges, and employees were appointed through JKSSB.

They expressed concern over repeated delays despite multiple committees being formed to decide pay scales and finalize rules. Without these rules, many promotion cases remain stalled. Employees urged the government to adopt the same rules as GMC Srinagar and GMC Jammu.

The protest was held during off-hours to avoid affecting patient care, but staff warned they may resort to strikes if their demands are not met.
