PDP Baramulla Reviews Preparations for August 5 Programme, Calls for Peaceful Democratic Participation
Baramulla, August 2: The Jammu & Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP), District Baramulla, on Sunday held a high-level organizational meeting to review preparations for the party's upcoming 5 August programme, urging party leaders and workers to ensure its successful, peaceful, and democratic conduct across the district.
The meeting, held at the residence of District President Mohd. Rafique Rather, was presided over by him and attended by former Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari as the special invitee. It was attended by district office bearers, contested candidates, Zonal Presidents, Women's Wing and Youth Wing functionaries, along with senior party leaders.
A threadbare discussion was held on the party's programme scheduled for August 5. The organizational directions and strategy conveyed during the recent meeting of District Presidents with the Party President were shared with all participants to ensure coordinated implementation at the grassroots level.
Addressing the gathering, District President Mohd. Rafique Rather stressed that the August 5 programme should reflect the party's commitment to democracy and constitutional values. He urged all party workers to mobilize peacefully, maintain discipline, and raise the voice of the people through democratic and constitutional means.
Former Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari, while addressing the meeting, said that the PDP's stand is firmly based on the Constitution and democratic principles. He maintained that every citizen has a duty to uphold the Constitution and asserted that the changes made to Article 370 were not in accordance with constitutional principles. He called upon party workers to remain united, strengthen the organization at the grassroots level, and continue their democratic struggle for justice and the restoration of the people's constitutional rights.
The meeting also witnessed detailed deliberations on strengthening the party's organizational structure, expanding public outreach, and intensifying grassroots activities throughout Baramulla district. Participants resolved to work collectively to ensure the success of the August 5 programme and to effectively highlight the concerns and aspirations of the people through peaceful democratic means.
