A leopard, basking in the soft golden sun, stretched out on one of the half-cut stones left behind by men long ago. While we were still soaking in the sight, a little face peeked out from behind her. A cub—wide-eyed, alert, and curious.

Our hearts skipped a beat. But it didn’t end there.

Our driver whispered, “She’s a mother of three.” And sure enough, within moments, two more tiny cubs emerged, tumbling and playing, oblivious to our gaze. It was just us, the leopard family, and complete silence. A rare, intimate moment.

And just as another jeep arrived, the family melted away into the rocks—leaving us with a memory we’ll never forget.

Right place. Right time.
Jawai never disappoints.

A leopard cub practices it’s jumping skills on the rocky hillsides of Jawai, Rajasthan in India. This cat is one cub in a litter of three. The rocks give the leopards shelter, cover to hunt prey and one wicked playground to perfect pouncing skills.

Our Story

Jawai Bandh is a one of the biggest dam in Rajasthan. Located in Sumerpur city. Built across a tributary of the river Luni, Jawai Bandh was constructed by Maharaja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur. It is believed to be the biggest dam in western Rajasthan. Besides being a primary source of water for nearby villages and Jodhpur city, Jawai Bandh is also famously a winter paradise for migratory birds and leopards and houses crocodiles.
