Tandur: Street Vendors Allege Unjust Demolition Near Bus Stand

Former MCT Vice Chairman Mohammed Asif has strongly condemned a recent demolition drive carried out near the Tandur bus stand, alleging that the action was conducted under the instructions of Tandur MLA Boyini Manohar Reddy and supervised by municipal authorities.

According to Mr.Asif, shops, carts, and belongings of several poor street vendors were removed during the drive, leaving many without a source of income. He described the incident as “deeply unfortunate,” stating that it has pushed already vulnerable vendors into further hardship.

He questioned how long such actions would continue and called for accountability from the local leadership. Mr. Asif urged MLA Manohar Reddy to intervene immediately, engage with the Municipal Commissioner, and halt the ongoing demolition activities.

Local vendors affected by the drive have reportedly expressed distress, claiming loss of livelihood and lack of prior notice.

TANDUR: Municipal Chairperson Patlolla Neeraj issued a strong warning to the opposition during her first official address at the camp office on Sunday.

Speaking in the presence of Congress leaders, she said such actions would no longer be tolerated and questioned how anyone could attack police personnel “like rowdies.” She emphasized that the public mandate must be respected and stated that political games would not be allowed to continue.

Her remarks came amid ongoing political tensions following the recent Tandur municipal Election in the town.
