Dialogue with Ladakh Welcome, Ignoring J&k is Unfortunate: Shiv Sena
Jammu, May 28: The Jammu & Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has welcomed the ongoing dialogue process between the Central Government and representatives of Ladakh, while stating that a similar serious and meaningful dialogue should also be initiated on the administrative, political, and public concerns related to Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters, party State President Manish Sahni said that the Ministry of Home Affairs holding discussions with Ladakh representatives on sensitive issues such as Sixth Schedule status, land rights, and local employment is a positive step. However, the absence of any broad-based dialogue with the people and political representatives of Jammu & Kashmir remains a matter of concern.
Sahni said that several northeastern and border states in the country have been granted special constitutional protections under Article 371 to safeguard their cultural identity, land, and local employment. He questioned why Jammu & Kashmir is being pushed to the sidelines when discussions on special constitutional safeguards and protections for Ladakh are actively taking place.
Targeting the National Conference government, Sahni said that during the elections, big promises were made regarding restoration of special rights, full statehood, land protection, and safeguards for local employment, but after coming to power, no concrete or effective initiative has been visible on these issues.
The party urged the Central Government to restore full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir at the earliest, ensure protection of land, employment, and demographic rights of local residents, and initiate a comprehensive and meaningful dialogue process with the people and political stakeholders of the Union Territory.

Party workers also carried out a public outreach campaign in the Karan Market area, where portraits of Maharaja Gulab Singh were respectfully presented to local traders and shopkeepers while spreading the message of preserving Dogra heritage and historical identity.
Senior party members Raj Singh, Sanjay Bhatt, Aditya Mahajan, Om Parkash and many others, were present on the occasion.
BJP Will Now Decide ‘Gau Mata’ Based on Breed and Age: Sahni
Jammu: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) J&K unit chief Manish Sahni has accused the BJP of adopting a double standard on the issue of Gau Mata and Sanatan faith. Sahni said the BJP now appears ready to decide which cow deserves the status of “Gau Mata” and which can be sent to slaughterhouses based on breed and age.
Reacting strongly to the decision in West Bengal permitting the slaughter of cows above 14 years of age, Sahni termed it an insult to the faith of millions of Sanatan followers and an attack on Indian cultural values. He said that while some BJP leaders refuse to recognize Jersey cows as “Gau Mata,” BJP leaders in northeastern states openly advocate beef consumption.
Taking a sharp dig at the BJP, Sahni said the party first sidelined its own senior leaders in the name of age and is now fixing an age limit even for Gau Mata to justify slaughter.
Shiv Sena demanded a clear explanation from the BJP leadership, immediate withdrawal of the decision related to cow slaughter, and action against the concerned Chief Minister.
