A Historic Milestone for Arunachal Pradesh: Inauguration of Namchik-Namphuk Central Coal Block Marks Beginning of Commercial Mining
Longtom, Kharsang Sub-Division, October 6, 2025. Arunachal Pradesh achieved a remarkable milestone in its economic journey with the Bhoomi Puja and formal inauguration of the Namchik-Namphuk Central Coal Block at Longtom under Kharsang Sub-Division. The event marks the Stateβs first-ever commercial coal mining operation, signaling a new era of industrial and economic development.
The auspicious ceremony was graced by the Honβble Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy, whose presence underscored the projectβs national importance and its potential to boost regional growth.
Speaking at the occasion, officials highlighted that the project is expected to generate an estimated revenue of around βΉ100 crore annually, serving as a major contributor to the State exchequer. Beyond revenue, the project promises to create significant employment opportunities, foster new livelihoods, and stimulate economic activity across the eastern belt of Arunachal Pradesh.
