Pastor Bajinder Singh, a self-proclaimed Christian preacher from Punjab, has been convicted in a 2018 r**e case by a Mohali court. The court found him guilty under Sections 376 (r**e), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The quantum of his sentence is scheduled to be pronounced on April 1, 2025.
In the 2018 r**e case involving Pastor Bajinder Singh, a Mohali court has convicted Singh, with sentencing scheduled for April 1, 2025. The court has acquitted five other individuals named in the FIR: Pastor Jatinder Kumar, Akbar Bhatti, Rajesh Chaudhary, Sitar Ali, and Sandeep Pehlwan.
The case originated from a complaint by a woman from Zirakpur, Punjab, who accused Pastor Bajinder Singh of sexually assaulting her under the pretext of assisting her in traveling abroad. She alleged that Singh recorded the act and threatened to release the video on social media if she did not comply with his demands. The other five individuals were implicated in the case but have now been acquitted by the court.
The court's decision to acquit these five individuals indicates that there was insufficient evidence to prove their involvement in the alleged crimes. As a result, they have been cleared of all charges related to this case.
The case originated from allegations made by a woman from Zirakpur, Punjab, who accused Singh of sexually assaulting her under the pretext of assisting her in traveling abroad. She further alleged that Singh recorded the act and threatened to release the video on social media if she did not comply with his demands. Following the registration of the FIR, Singh was arrested at Delhi airport in July 2018 while attempting to board a flight to London.
In addition to this conviction, Singh has faced multiple legal issues in recent times. In February 2025, a 22-year-old woman filed a case against him, alleging sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation. She claimed that Singh had made inappropriate advances toward her since she was 17 years old. Furthermore, in March 2025, a video surfaced showing Singh physically assaulting a man and a woman in his office.
