GB.ROAD: In the early morning hours of Saturday, a significant accident occurred beyond Vijaygarden signal Opp:Panchamrut Bus Stop near Wagbill on Ghodbunder Road in Thane, when an Oil tanker carrying 32,000 litres of boiler oil collided with stationary Break-down truck parked on the road.The incident, which occured around 4:20 am resulted in Driver sustaining serious leg injuries. The tanker on its route from Sewri to Sinnar, lost control and rammed into a truck loaded with 10 tonnes of wood. The driver, trapped in the cabin due to the impact, was rescued & was hospitalized. The vehicular traffic on the busy Ghodbunder Road was disrupted for arnd 45-60 mins due to snarl vehicle movement. Fortunately, there was no oil spill to create obstacle for routine commuters. The mishap vehicles were later towed to by Hydra-Crane to clear the busy route to normalcy.

THANE(MIRA-ROAD): Exhibitting commendable act of mind alertness and quick response, Western Railway motorman Arvind Kureel saved a man's life at Mira Road. The unidentified individual allegedly attempted su***de by lying on the fast line tracks. Kureel, while operating the train between Bhayander and Mira Road, spotted the person and immediately applied the emergency brakes, successfully stopping the train in time. The individual, after the train halted, walked away and sat under the train until he was rescued. The incident briefly detained fast line services & the person was handed over to the Government Railway Police(GRP). Western Railway plans to felicitate Kureel for his heroic act.This incident highlights the importance of mental health awareness too.

maintenance work to be done at Temghar Water Purification Center
Thane : 🚰Essential maintenance, repair of control panel, transformer oil filtration etc. of the high pressure substation of Temghar Water Purification Center under Thane Municipal Corporation's own water supply scheme will be done on Wednesday, June 4. Therefore, water supply will be shut down for 12 hours from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm on Wednesday, June 4. As a result, water supply will be completely shut down for 12 hours in Ghodbunder Road, Vartak Nagar, Rutu Park, Jail, Gandhi Nagar, Rustomji, Siddhanchal, Samata Nagar, Siddheshwar, Internity, Johnson and some parts of Kalwa on Wednesday, June 4 from 9.00 am to 9.00 pm. In other areas, water supply coming through the STEM authority will be continued by zoning. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of low water pressure for the next 1 to 2 days until the water supply returns to its previous level. However, the Thane Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to store water properly and not waste it...
