AWANGBOW NEWMAI SWORN IN AS MINISTER
Imphal, May 29, 2020 (DIPR): Naga People's Front MLA Shri Awangbow Newmai was today sworn in as Cabinet Minister at a ceremony held at Banquet Hall, Raj Bhavan. The Governor of Manipur Dr. Najma Heptulla administered the oath of office and secrecy.
Shri Awangbow Newmai is the sitting MLA from Tamei Assembly Constituency in Tamenglong district in NPF ticket.

Speaking to few media persons soon after the swearing-in-ceremony, the newly sworn in minister said that he is grateful to the Hon’ble Governor and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur for making him as one of the minister in the Biren Singh ministry. He also stated that he is grateful to the party President and colleagues for nominating him to be the minister. He further said that he will discharge his duties as a minister and whatever assignment has been given with utmost sincerity. On being asked about portfolio, he said that whatever Hon’ble CM offers, he will graciously accept.

SPECIAL TRAINS FERRYING STRANDED RESIDENTS OF MANIPUR ARRIVE AT JIRIBAM

Imphal, the 29th May,2020 (DIPR): Shramik Special train from Delhi with 1600 stranded residents of Manipur had arrived Jiribam Railway Station today at 1.35 pm. The train was departed on 25th May,2020 from Delhi railway station.

On the other hand, Gurgaon Shramik Special train ferrying 1375 passengers had also arrived at the Jiribam Railway Station at 9.50 pm of 28th May,2020. The Shramik Special train was departed from Gurgaon railway station from 25th May,2020.

At the Jiribam Railway Station, all the passengers coming in the special trains were screened by the authorities. The returnees boarded the buses after undergoing necessary screening process and other mandatory procedures under the supervision of the Jiribam District Administration and started for the common drop points of district head quarters.

They will remain in isolation at the community quarantine centres.

These passengers were stranded due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to contain Covid19 pandemic. (DIPR)

BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra is admitted to the Medanta hospital in Gurgaon, hospital sources said on Thursday.

New Delhi: BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra was admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon on Thursday after he showed symptoms of COVID-19, sources said. A source at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon said Patra was "admitted in the morning and is stable".

BJP leaders and many others posted their wishes for a speedy recovery of the articulate party spokesperson, who is one of the more widely followed Indian politicians on Twitter. Patra is also among the most visible BJP faces on news channels.

He posted several tweets, including tributes to Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar on hisbirth anniversary, on Thursday as well. BJP's information technology wing head Amit Malviya said Patra is in good spirits and is fighting back.
