കോട്ടയം മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ, കെട്ടിടം തകർന്ന് വീണ് വൈക്കം സ്വദേശിനി ബിന്ദു മരിച്ച സംഭവത്തിൽ കേരളം കണ്ടത് പിണറായി സർക്കാരിന്റെ മനുഷ്യത്വരഹിത ഇടപെടലാണ്. ഒരു ജീവൻ മണ്ണിനടിയിൽ ശ്വാസത്തിനായി പിടയുമ്പോൾ, രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തനത്തിന് നേതൃത്വം നൽകേണ്ട ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രി വീണാ ജോർജ്ജ് മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ച് പുതിയ കെട്ടിടത്തിന്റെ സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ കാണിച്ച് 'PR ഷോ' നടത്തുന്ന തിരക്കിലായിരുന്നു.

ബിന്ദുവിന്റെ കുടുംബം പരാതിയുമായി എത്തിയപ്പോൾ മാത്രമാണ് തിരച്ചിൽ ആരംഭിക്കാൻ പോലും സർക്കാർ തയ്യാറായത്. മന്ത്രിയുടെ അനാസ്ഥ നിറഞ്ഞ ഇടപെടലുകൾക്ക് പകരം, മണിക്കൂറുകൾക്ക് മുൻപേ രക്ഷാപ്രവർത്തനം തുടങ്ങിയിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഒരുപക്ഷേ ബിന്ദുവിന്റെ ജീവൻ രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്താമായിരുന്നു! വീണാ ജോർജിന് ആരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രി പോയിട്ട് എംഎൽഎ ആയി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാൻ പോലും അർഹത ഇല്ലെന്ന് സ്വന്തം അനുയായികൾ തന്നെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.

ഈ അവസരത്തിൽ കേരളം ഒന്നടങ്കം ചോദിക്കുന്നു: എന്തിനാണ് നമുക്കിങ്ങനെ ഒരനാരോഗ്യ മന്ത്രി? രാജി വെച്ച് ഒഴിയണം.

ഈ അവസ്ഥക്ക് മാറ്റം വരണം...

Following the building collapse at Kottayam Medical College, in which Bindu, a native of Vaikom, lost her life, what unfolded was a chilling display of the Pinarayi Vijayan government’s inhumanity and indifference. While Bindu lay trapped beneath the rubble, gasping for breath, Health Minister Veena George, who should have been leading the rescue effort, was busy orchestrating a PR event, calling the media to showcase the amenities of a new building.

It was only after Bindu’s family arrived and filed a formal complaint that the government even considered launching a search operation. Had rescue efforts begun hours earlier, instead of being stalled by the minister's shocking negligence, Bindu’s life might have been saved. Even Veena George’s own supporters are now speaking out, saying she is no longer fit to serve even as an MLA, let alone as Health Minister.

Today, the people of Kerala are asking, why should we tolerate such a callous health minister?

This isn't the collapse of just a building; it's the collapse of governance. And it must end. Health Minister Veena George must resign and step down from her post.

മൗലികാവകാശങ്ങളും ഭരണഘടനാ മൂല്യങ്ങളും ചവിട്ടിമെതിയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ട ഇരുണ്ട കാലഘട്ടമായിരുന്നു അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥ. അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥയുടെ അൻപതാം വാർഷികം ആഘോഷിക്കുമ്പോഴും, അതേ നിലപാടുകൾ തന്നെ പിന്തുടരുകയാണ് കോൺ​ഗ്രസ്. ജനങ്ങളുടെ ഭരണഘടനാപരമായ അവകാശങ്ങളെ ദുർബലപ്പെടുത്തിയും തങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബാധിപത്യം സംരക്ഷിക്കാനാണ് അവരുടെ ശ്രമം.

യുപിഎ ഭരണകാലത്തും പൗരാവകാശങ്ങൾ ചവിട്ടി മെതിയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഐടി ആക്ടിലെ സെക്ഷൻ 66 എ ഉപയോ​ഗിച്ച് ജനങ്ങളെ ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും മാധ്യമ പ്രവ‍ർത്തകരെ ജയിലിലടയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അടിയന്തരാവസ്ഥയെ എതിർത്ത ബിജെപിയിലെയും ജനസംഘത്തിലെയും നേതാക്കളിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രചോദനമുൾക്കൊണ്ട്, ഞാൻ അതിനെതിരെ സുപ്രീം കോടതിയിൽ പോരാടി. ഒടുവിൽ സെക്ഷൻ 66 എ റദ്ദാക്കപ്പെട്ടു.

ജനാധിപത്യത്തിനും ഭരണഘടനയ്ക്കും എതിരായ ജമാ അത്തെ ഇസ്ലാമിയ്ക്കൊപ്പം കൂട്ടു ചേർന്ന് ഇന്നും അഴിമതിയുടെയും അവസരവാദത്തിൻ്റെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയം തുടരുകയാണ് കോൺ​ഗ്രസ്. ജനങ്ങളുടെ താല്പര്യങ്ങൾ ബലി കൊടുത്തും സ്വന്തം കുടുംബത്തിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങൾക്കാണ് അവർ മുൻഗണന നൽകുന്നത്.

The Emergency was a dark era in which Congress trampled on fundamental rights and constitutional values. Even as we mark the anniversary of the 50 years of emergency, Congress continues to do the same - undermining the constitutional rights of people to protect the power of its dynasty.

Even during the UPA rule they trampled upon the rights of citizens, used section 66A of the IT Act to intimidate people, and sent journalists to jail. I fought this in the Supreme Court, inspired by our leaders of BJP and Jansangh who fought the emergency, and got section 66A repealed.

Even today, by tying up with the anti-constitutional and anti-democratic Jamaat-e-Islami, Congress continues its opportunistic and corrupt politics, putting the interests of its dynasty first, even at the expense of the people.
