A Division Bench of Allahabad High Court comprising Justice V.K. Shukla and Justice Brijesh Kumar Srivastava has held that blocking 25% of the benefits in a Pension scheme in favour of minorities is not invalid. Upholding the validity of Samajwadi Pension Yozna, the Bench held that Minorities are a class in themselves and State is not prohibited in making welfare scheme for the minorities belonging to weaker section, provided it does not overreach and undermine the constitutional provisions

A Himachal Pradesh High Court Bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan has held that right to free and compulsory education in a neighborhood school envisaged section 3 of the Right to Education Act does not include the right to insist on getting admission in school of one’s choice.
