Krishna Kumar (born 12 June 1968) is an Indian actor and politician known for his work in Malayalam films and television, along with appearances in a few Tamil films. Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to Gopalakrishnan Nair and Retnamma, Krishna Kumar comes from a family with a strong military background. He too was preparing to join the armed forces when an unexpected opportunity came his way—working as a news presenter for Doordarshan. During his time there, he received his first acting offer and appeared in a 13-episode serial for DD Malayalam, playing the son of actor Nedumudi Venu. At that time, DD Malayalam was the only Malayalam television channel. Later, when Asianet launched, he rose to fame with the popular TV soap Sthree (1998–2000), co-starring Siddique and Vinaya Prasad. After Siddique moved to films, Krishna Kumar became the male lead, and the serial’s success marked his big breakthrough. He was initially set to debut in films with Joshiy’s Sainyam (1993) as a naval officer, but his scenes were removed during editing. To compensate, Joshiy gave him the opportunity to dub for Vikram’s character in the same film. However, he was removed from the dubbing studio for not holding a valid dubbing artist’s card. Krishna Kumar finally made his film debut with Kashmeeram (1994) and went on to act in several Malayalam films and television projects. Navya Nair was born as Dhanya Veena on 14 October 1985 in Cheppad, Alappuzha district, Kerala, to Raju Pillai, a telecom employee, and Veena, a school teacher. She has a brother, Rahul R. Nair, who resides in Dubai. Filmmaker K. Madhu is her maternal uncle. Navya completed her schooling at St. Mary’s Girls’ High School, Kayamkulam. She began learning classical dance at a young age and won the Kalathilakam title while studying at Bethany Balikamadam Girls' High School, Nangiarkulangara, in the District School Youth Festival. She later attended M.S.M. Higher Secondary School, Kayamkulam, where her mother was a teacher. Navya holds a B.A. in English and an MBA in Finance. Film director Sibi Malayil suggested the screen name “Navya,” feeling that “Dhanya” did not suit an actress. On 21 January 2010, Navya married Santhosh Menon, a Mumbai–based Malayali. Adoor Bhasi (born K. Bhaskaran Nair; 1 March 1929 – 29 March 1990) was a legendary Indian actor and film director, best remembered for his iconic comedic roles in Malayalam cinema from the 1950s to the 1980s. Frequently seen as the sidekick to Prem Nazir, he later transitioned into leading and character roles, showcasing his remarkable versatility. Bhasi also directed three Malayalam films during the late 1970s and was admired for his eloquent speeches in fluent English. Over his illustrious career, he received several Kerala State Film Awards, including two for Best Actor and one for Second Best Actor. Born in Peringanadu, Adoor, Travancore, Bhasi hailed from a family deeply rooted in literature and public life. His father, E. V. Krishna Pillai, was a celebrated humourist, writer, dramatist, essayist, lawyer, and legislator, while his mother, Maheshwari Amma, was the daughter of pioneering Malayalam novelist and social reformer C. V. Raman Pillai. Bhasi was the fourth of seven children, growing up alongside siblings K. Omana Amma, K. Ramachandran Nair (Chandraji), Rajalakshmi Amma, K. Padmanabhan Nair, Sankaran Nair, and K. Krishnan Nair.
