According to sources familiar with the developments, there have been concerns about a lack of cooperation between the two leaders. The alleged differences are being discussed against the backdrop of organisational activity within the Congress's women’s wing in Tivim and North Goa.

Sources familiar with the 2024 Lok Sabha election period say that Mollie Da Gama Silva was invited to an election-related meeting at the Congress office in Tivim as a guest, where she interacted with senior Congress figures.

According to the same account, Mollie subsequently developed a close working relationship with Pratiksha Khalap, who is currently the Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President. Recent reporting independently confirms that Khalap currently holds that position and that Mollie serves as North Goa District President.

Sources further allege that during a Mahila Congress signature campaign, Jean Dias was not given the prominence she expected within the local organisational activity, while Mollie's profile within the women's wing continued to grow.

The situation eventually culminated in Mollie Da Gama Silva being appointed North Goa District President of Mahila Congress in 2025. Contemporary reporting confirms that the appointment was formally approved by All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba.
