Goa State Film Festival to Showcase Rich Regional Cinema from August 14–17

The 10th, 11th, and 12th editions of the Goa State Film Festival will be held in Panaji from August 14 to 17, 2025, celebrating the vibrant world of Goan regional cinema in Konkani and Marathi. Organised by the Department of Information & Publicity, Government of Goa, and executed by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the festival promises a rich line-up of films and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Film screenings will take place at the Maquinez Palace Theatre and INOX, Panaji, with 19 feature films and four non-feature films competing for top honours. The festival will present 21 awards in the feature category and seven in the non-feature category.

Feature films in competition include Questaio de Confusao, Miranda House, Kaajro, 7 Dayz, Juze, Amori (Dusk), Chopadi, Glory, Mopa Diary, Amizade, Bade Abbu, D’Costa House, Pedru Poder, Ransaavat, Fotting No. 1, Gang, Tem’ Battle of Egos, Crazy Mogi, and MOG.

Non-feature contenders are Wagro, Goy: Swatantryach e Homkhan, Gathan, and Kupamcho Daryeo.

Alongside movie screenings, the festival will host several workshops and masterclasses:

Aug 15, 10:30 am: Painting with Light: Cinematography as the Soul of Cinema by Shri Neelaabh Kaul

Aug 16, 10:00 am: Masterclass on Acting by veteran actor Kanwarjit Paintal

Aug 16, 11:30 am: Understanding the Power of Cinema through its Elements by Pankaj Saxena

Aug 17, 10:00 am: Masterclass on Movie Action by Shri Chitah Yajnesh Shetty

Film lovers can register online at https://esg.co.in/goa-state-film-festival-2025-%F0%9F%8E%AC/ to attend screenings, workshops, and masterclasses.

The 10th, 11th and 12th Edition of Goa State Film Festival 2025 will get underway on the 14th of August, 2025. The four day festival will be held on 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th of August 2025 respectively.
